I'm sure you hear it too.

On the wings of darkness
your soul will latch.
darkness knows your heart
has a hole to patch.

It will wait
till you're all alone.
Waiting for the moment
when that guard sinks like stone.

It knows who you are,
where you've been and why.
You can't fight it,
but oh, you can try.

By the light-less moon
your soul shall fall.
You know you hear it-
darkness's call.

Victory but a veil of lies, treachery and deceit.

Victory but a veil,
of lies, treachery and deceit.
The web spun around your heart,
that makes it believe it's complete.

Victory but a veil
that hides you from the truth,
The fallacy that makes you believe
the impossible, even with no proof.

Victory but a veil
of scorn, lust and despair.
The thing that makes you believe
in the things that were never really there.

Where White Walls Meet On Painted Cracks

Where white walls meet on painted cracks,
and tears still streak the face of dawn.
Where trouble lies and hopes abound
in places lost long ago.
Wounded souls meet, and sit, and stare
and condolences are bitter words to speak.

An empty house stands,
empty, save for the prisoners within its weary walls.
Walls of words and hopes and lies,
of stone they weigh still more.

A pink sky gone grey.

The waves roll back and forth,
crashing. Always crashing.
It crests and then falls,
tumbling down and uprooting the serenity of placement beneath it.

So too do bits of hardened sand and stone get washed away,
exposing the soft clay beneath.
Pounded and damaged, a hurt looking life.

The marmoset turns and blinks; a slow, painstaking blink.
And so, the rain begins.

Music, Language of the Soul

Your words hold me fast,
like the chains,
that you've already ravelled,
around my heart.

I feel your wings of song,
wrapping around me,
shelthering me,
from the harsh world around.

They clear my mind,
yet fog my heart.
Our souls touch,
for only a passing moment,
yet they feel,
like a lifetime.

Your soul's song,
binds me to you.
A bond to last,

Hair, oh really?

They say that hair is beautiful,
they say that it's divine.
I say that it is relative,
have you looked at mine?

They say hair can be a keepsake,
for loved ones you have lost.
I say it's the first thing you choose to lose,
when you pay heartache's first cost.

They say that hair is lovely,
it frames the face within.
I say it blocks the lights,
hiding that wicked grin.

Thread between 'friends

I am dead,
I am dying.
I give up
without trying.

I am lost,
but not found.
In this place,
I lose ground.

We are near,
and yet far.
Is this what
friends really are?

We were close,
now we drift.
Falling fast,
into the rift.

Solace and Solitude

In the slim chance of happening,
my heart has learnt to abide-
In a stillness and in a solitude
for which weariness can hide.

Where weariness and fortitude
have melded and become one.
Where trials and tribulations
are pasts and have been dones

Where pain and memory have no foothold,
for their tempers have been curbed.
Where rest is not a dream.
Where peace lies undisturbed.

Depth

Are those tears of guilt I see,
running down your face?
Your blood-stained hands
and wounded face,
telling more than you would want.

You carry many burdens,
that much i can tell,
but do you really want to follow the path,
all the way to hell?

You try to lie,
through your teeth,
but end up simply failing.
Because you know I see beyond,
your soul, there's no mistaking.

Of God he would not speak.

I thought that he'd believe
though of God he would not speak.
I thought with God he'd stand,
though he'd miss him every week.

I thought that God'd be real
to the man I learned to love.
I thought that he'd see reason
that there's a creator up above.

I thought I'd always knew.
I'd had my suspicions anyway.
I thought that knowledge beforehand
would've stopped truth from darkening my day.
