Hot Days

The hot days are upon us.
Oh how I love the heat.
Cause I'm a darned, old, ornery cus,
Hot weather is a treat.

I love it when it's steamy,
And bodies are dripping sweat.
To me the heat is really dreamy,
The heat is nothing to dread.

The hotter the better,
I wish summer would last all year.
For any endeavor,
For hot weather there's beer.

Pothole In The Road

The car drives through,
Suddenly the front end dips severely,
Dirty water splashes all around,
The car continues forward,
Now the rear end dips down,
The dirty water splashes again,
A continuous parade of vehicles,
Follow suit,
An endless chain of dipping and splashing,
reminds me of a broken record.
Some of the water reaches me,
Time to go.

The Dog And The Cat

The dog and the cat,
Had a little spat.
The cat clawed the dog,
And the dog squealed like a...pig.

The dog bit the cat,
Who was ugly and fat.
And the cat screamed away,
In the middle of the... afternoon.

Then the dog chased the cat,
Up a tree where he sat.
Growling down at the dog,
Who licked his chops on a...stump.

for those that don't get it-hog, day, log.

Happy Sunshine

Happy sunshine on my face,
I love those warming golden rays.
Happy sunshine fills my eye,
When gazing up at the blue sky

Happy sunshine for my soul,
It fills me up with rays of gold.
Happy sunshine for my heart,
Keeps away love's poisoned darts.

Happy sunshine all the time,
Always in this heart of mine.
Happy sunshine dear to me,
Walking on the beach and free.

Neanthe Bella

Neanthe Bella, beautiful dwarf,
Beautiful from birth.
Glorious woman in green.
Fan dancer,
Seductress,
Wild,
Exotic,
Mysterious,
And unique.
Neanthe bella, beautiful dwarf,
Unlike,
All others.
Delicate,
Fragile,
So feminine.
Never aging,
Always,
Shy,
Reserved,
A queen,

One Little Kiss

One little kiss, infinitely sweet,
Is all I'm asking for.
Without that kiss I'll taste defeat,
One little kiss, please I implore.

One little kiss from your red lips,
Sweeter than any wine.
Will have me doing backwards flips,
And tell me that your'e mine.

One little kiss, just on the cheek,
I'm not that brazen yet.
That's all the comfort that I seek,
One little kiss, yes, just like that.

Barefoot In The Summer Sun

Running in the fields all day,
Chewing on a blade of grass.
Barefoot in the summer sun,
Watching clouds as they roll past.

Endless humid summer days,
Fishing for cats down by the stream.
Fast asleep most of the time,
Catching 'big ones' in my dreams.

Skimming stones for half the day,
Letting Spot run wild and free.
Oh, to be twelve years old again,
Once more like it used to be.

Magic Mystic Light

Magic is the mystic glow,
Of the full moon's radiant light.
And though it rises ever slow,
From the sky it shines so bright.

There is a certain magic in the moon,
With clouds streaming across it's face.
As you stare it makes you swoon,
In it's magical embrace.

Illuminating everything at night,
Like a Goddess in he sky.
With her magic mystic light,
Blessing her children from on high.

Spring At Last Is Here

Everything has turned to green again,
Spring at last is here.
The fluffy clouds bring the spring rain,
The sky cries it's gentle tears.

The oaks and elms sport new attire,
Bluebonnets dot the land.
Mockingbirds sing on the telephone wire,
The harmonizing sounds so grand.

The Earth has come to life once more,
Spring is in the air.
Up in the sky Peregrines soar,
New life is everywhere.

A Pecan Tree

The Pecan tree, he's no one's fool,
My papi once told me.
As long as the weather still is cool,
Not a single leaf, on him you'll see.

Sometimes it's May, or maybe June,
Before his leaves appear.
He never sports new clothes too soon,
Not until the weather's clear.

But once in leaf, no tree around,
Comes close to the Pecan.
With shade and fruit, he does abound,
Standing in the Texas sun.
