Cotton Candy Clouds

Big billowy clouds float by,
Like so much cotton candy.
Gently floating through the sky,
Just as pretty, as they can be.

Some are grey, some are white,
The tops extend forever.
Cotton candy in the heights,
Pursuing their endeavors.

A Guitar At Two In The Morn

Someone strums a guitar, at two in the morn,
Such a melancholy sound.
In the darkest hours before the dawn,
Where only silence does abound.

The body of a woman, weeping in the night,
While somebody strums her strings.
A tortured soul, before first light,
While the guitar gently sings.

Fish Tale

Everytime he told the tale,
The fish would grow some more.
He would repeat it without fail,
Till he got to be a boor.

It started as a Blue gill,
At the end it was a whale.
No he could never get his fill,
Of telling his fish tale.

I believe in young hearts

I believe in young hearts,
That are new and free.
When love has it's start,
It's beautiful to see.

I believe in old hearts,
That down through the years.
Have endured together,
Through the smiles and tears.

I believe in all hearts,
Be they old or new.
I believe in all hearts,
I believe in you.

Pinto Beans

Pinto beans in a little bowl,
'A La Charra' they are so good.
Talk about food to sooth the soul,
With a flour tortilla, oh yeah, thats food.

'Frijoles A La Charra' with anything,
With rice on the side, and fajitas too.
The comfort food of which I sing,
Pinto beans a love so true.

No Spring Chicken

Oh my lord,
No spring chicken,
How old can she be?
I think she knew Truman,
That's plain to see.
Purple shoes, purple pantsuit,
Even purple hair.
I wonder what color,
Is her underwear.
Oh my lord,
No spring chicken,
Walking down the midway,
With nary a care.
But oh dear lord,
Will you look at that hair!

Is It Love

Is it love, or is it lust?
Is it a hurricane, or just a gust?
Is it great passion, or is it a bust?
Will it blow over, like the wind blows dust?

To be secure, find out we must,
If it be love, or if it be lust.
Will it lay on the ground and turn to rust?
Is it pie filling, or just the crust.

A Purple Dragonfly

A purple dragonfly, just caught my eye.
A sharp contrast to the clear blue sky.
He lands on a twig to rest his wings,
Unmindful of danger, and all other things.

As I approach he takes to flight.
Those gossamer wings are a delight.
A purple blur in the twilight gloom,
Up, up, and away, listen to the zoom.

A Long Night Of Love

Sweet kisses like wine,
Upon my face.
From an angel devine,
In Spanish lace.
Fragrant raven tresses,
Caress my face,
My soul confesses,
Into her gaze.
Sparkling green eyes,
Stare into my soul,
No need for replies,
With a woman this bold.
A long night of love,
I'll spend with you.
My precious white dove,
That's what I'll do.

Burrs In My Pants

Burrs in my pants,
Thorns in my shoes.
Fishing this lake,
Just gives me the blues.

The fish are not biting,
And thats a fact.
Maybe it's time,
I headed back.

All that I got,
From my fishing trip.
Were burrs in my pants,
And sunburned lips.

I guess this fishing trip,
Was meant to fail.
When the burrs started sticking,
To my tail.
