Page One, Part Two

My hand yearns not what my eyes have seen.
Though the eyes plead to hands,
'Show me again, learn it forever,
so when my heart aches I can look
to my memories of what I so love.
I never want to forget. wish to
memorize,
the features and the shadows,
even more - the eyes, ' Yet, Curses!
my graphite speaks Dark, and
too dark for those lite eyes
some who I love behold. And more,
Curses! If all these eyes be dark, can I never forget the dark eyes that torture and tempt.
If you look, you will fall.
Fall, fall, you have failed.

Problematic Sleeping

a sleepless night.
awake, I can't fight.
every thought bounces into my head.
so I let them run
and every single one
rush around and give me pain instead.
.
give my bedroom
one last sweep
so everything looks like it's in place
get into bed
but don't feel dead
as I turn off the light at 12: 23
turn here, leg there,
til I'm tangled as best as can be
hand there, hair's too near
kinda warm- should I ditch the shirt?
uncomfortable, I am.
think about turning on the fan
so real quick-like I do

Dream Sonnet 1

I sometimes have the strangest little dreams.
Dreams filled with backwards parts of normal things.
People and places I cannot erase,
Actual instances do interlace.

We hunted buffalo out on a plain.
Shoplifting and seeing tracks for a train.
My neighborhood looks diff'rent but precise.
The tropics I have inhabited twice.

A Barbie doll movie premier gone wrong
‘Cause I wore a pantsuit, my hair wasn't long,
The dogs made the hotel burst into flames,
And he hated what his father became.

My mind wishes not what my heart wants true
They will forever be fighting o'er you

My Opinion of Dreams

What do you find when you go through the gap
To worlds that must be enter’d via sleep
No one can get to you, you’re in so deep
Where life and your subconscious self both wrap

They never cease to brighten up the morn
When days pass slowly they bring me to life
No matter if I wake fearing some knife
For from them my imagination’s born

And each night, battles, I must wrestle through
I’ll tame the Darkness but it doesn’t quit
Now, worrying while I’m lying awake

My mind wishes not what my heart wants true
Still there’s a part, protesting, I admit
I want to sleep, to see these scenes so great.

Dream Sonnet 2

These are the panics why I doubt what's true.
Escaped a beast, we race towards eastern dusk
Bullets won't hurt me, my manner so brusque
Jaws and claws fight me, but never get through.

Her mages ne'er had the chance to respond,
Killed by a quarter, string, and golden ring
So many terrors a small girl can bring,
Just floating within that Stygian pond.

My dream world shows me as quite heroic.
I'll tame the Darkness but it doesn't quit,
So how could I want these terrible fates?

The evil and destitute makes one sick.
Still there's a part I, protesting, admit
I want to sleep, to dream these dreams so great.

So Early in the Morning the Great Things I Write

I’m sitting all alone in this solid night
in the yard behind my home watching the fire end its flight.
It’s quiet all around; the fire consumes my sight.
Now a great roaring sound is coming from the light.
The thought eats at my conscience as I always knew it might
because I’m starting to doubt if I can tell what’s wrong from what is right.
Why do I switch sides so often? Why this constant fight?
How come I’ll change in a heartbeat from black back into white?
I’ll chew and never swallow; too much off I bite.
Dreaming of escape. Flying like a kite.
But the homely ropes are bound so unbearably tight.
So I’ll wonder about my life and the fall after the height.

No Time To Eat

'nd there you have it, folks, so, from what you just read

take from a moment and consider my dear broken head

I've got some problems boiling in my brain

but they all get ignored, why worry, it's all the same?

this happens all the time? just look at me, I'm fine?

do I not look fine? I'm just fine I'm just fine?

Nine days into the semester and my conscience is a mess

but the gloom makes a mixture so things all end up their best

like this, this rhyme, it's got a bit of bite

I'd like to share it with you all, share it if I might

I Hear L-B Singing.

I hear my high-school singing, and such different carols I hear,

Those of emotions, whether they be strong or scared they echo and reach further than we think.

Our rivals singing their opinions out in the open air,

Our leaders sing valiently and touch in our hearts, strong promising to weak.

Through sports we are known, and through sports we reach out, the matured students should be the most kind.

The rookie, the newbie, they look to the top, they sing of their worries and wonders,

The veterans sing replies, fond memories, and yearn for the young to learn lessons from loves.

Still cliques sing alone and together, either shunning or mocking the outsiders.

Those 'outsiders' flock together and in unison sing tunes to them in scornful replies.

Then a bright, loud ring, that cuts off what we sing, makes us remember (later, treasure) the important times we shared forever.

Lost The Boy

you couldn't tell
but I ended up weeping
because of a nasty habit of mine
you sound so empty
of broken mind
so I imagined you dealing with it
the way girls do. But
you're not a girl. And
it hurts the same. Only
you don't have anything to lose or anyone to gain.

And it really sucks
cause the truest way we connect
is through our eloquent speech
and our lives of music
But it now seems to me
that I need to learn myself
what chords match my words
you won't be around much longer,

Emotions Raging

It's not his fault anymore.
Now it's all on you.
You brought it unto yourself, all of you.
Why does it happen? You're not allowed to know.
All you can know is.
You don't have Talent. You don't have Luck.
You're insignificant as that speck of dust
and you brought it all on to yourself
good work. You're unhappy.
waiting for a reason to write.
Applause. It happened. I hope you
enjoy feeling your heart sink into the
floor, eyes droop into slow, tear-resistant
blinks. No, no crying, these recent sleep
less nights have drained the tears all out.
no excuses, bad results. They are results.
for many moments I was unaware
of anything but my chin and hair.
the pen and paper, my brain so loud.
