Obama, you have a big family

More than 18 million proud Americans
Voted for you.
Billions of your fellow men and women
Listened to your acceptance speech
And watched you
Tonight.
Obama, you have a big family.
You are writing and re-writing history.
Hillary and Bill Clinton unleashed
A barrage of truths about our current plight.
Biden, Dean, Kerry and others let the dog out
And all eligible voters shout:
“Obama, you have a big family”.
Senator McCain is a good man;
Being a good soldier and decent;
He should remain in the Senate’s den
To help you govern and command
This great country. He is a good combatant;
He is going to understand.
Obama, you have a big family.

Today Is My Birthday

Today is my birthday,
I decided to be a little lazy today.
I woke up very late this morning,
I vacuumed, I did some cleaning.
I made my breakfast.
I made a nice omelet very fast.
While eating, I watched a few TV programs,
For about two hours. I am now a few grams
Heavier, I mean a few pounds heavier.
I was going to the gym to make me stronger,
But I decided against that activity.
I wanted to be a little lazy,
To relax, to enjoy the day, and to chill;
I did not want to kill
Myself today.
When it is your birthday,
You should take it easy.
I listened to a few songs of Sinatra,
A few melodies of Nat King Cole.
I had a tiny glass of vodka.

Doomsday is this saturday

Every second of the day
Is the end of the world for somebody.
As proclaimed by the boisterous clergy;
Imagine for a second, this lazy
Freeloader had not been smoking day
And night, nor drinking his habitual special kool-aid.
Imagine that for once, what he said,
Was true. A major earthquake hit several places,
Volcanoes erupted from left to right,
Tornadoes landed right on our faces,
And water is everywhere. There is no light.
The fog is thick, it is immensely dark;
Yet one can feel the intense heat emanating
From outside. No birds were chirping in the park
And the crickets stopped serenading.
What would you do?
The beautiful diamond ring is on the table,
You cannot touch nor see it.
The luxurious car you just purchased not too far from the stable
Is parking outside and you cannot drive it.

Hurricane Sandy: The Nightmare of the Century

Everybody has a fascinating story to tell,
About Sandy, the queen of Halloween.
Believe me, mine is synonymous with hell:
The angry monsters that cannot be seen,
The grumpy sounds of the wavy seas,
The strange harrowing of the wind,
The spasmodic spread out of the sand,
The agonizing sighs of the battered trees,
The heavy landings of the falling lumbers,
The twisting of the utility poles with the wires and the conductors,
The incessant poundings on the roof,
The deafening swears of the thunders,
The flood, the deluge, the blackouts, the haunted booth,
The evacuations, the rescues, the bravery of the first responders,
The tears, the cries, the somber faces of the youngsters,
The untimely deaths, the accidental drowning, the sad funerals,
The lost of many sweet homes, the eerie silence of the malls,
The unwavering help of the lawmakers, the unwanted pool in the basement,
The resiliency of the people, and the full dedication of our President.

Death Of A Mad Dictator

Mum the word; he is now a mummy.
He is no longer a despicable dummy.
What an immensely momentous event!
Crime never pays, even if you are an arrogant
Tyrant. You give respect and you will be respected.
This is a victory for the oppressed, humiliated,
Castrated, electrocuted, murdered and violated
Sons and daughters of God. Allah is good,
Allahu akbar! Allah provides food
And gives strength to the mothers,
Whose offsprings were executed by the murderers.
The executions of two recent mad dogs are reminders
That all men and women are of equal
Values. Freedom of speech is a gift from the eternal
God at birth. Babies cry to affirm their existence.
Freedom of expression, freedom of resistance
Are sacred. Never be afraid to express yourself.
Never be afraid to fight the oppressive elf.
Under the light of the moon, all matters will rot
And return to their original forms. There is a small lot

White Halloween

Two days before the end of October, before Halloween,
A surprised snow storm surged like a mad queen,
Attacking the street lights, toying with the arms of the trees
To enrage the melancholic breeze
Of autumn, disrupting the mundane flows
Of rivers and the rhythmic pirouettes of the doves.

Oh! The sounds of the thunders
Mimicking the horrors
Of a dreadful season,
Which defied logic and reason!
Dracula and Mina were hanging out at the corner
Of the boulevard, where an elder
Recently lost the head
Of his masked doll.
A group of formerly dull
Teenagers decorated many windows,
And painted the feathers of the neighbors’ crows.
Hence all witnessed the dead
Roaming throughout the main mean street

Multiracial Festival of Love

We are going to celebrate this Valentine’s Day
In style, New York’s style
On top of the pile
Of the black and white snow
On Eastern Parkway
Not too far from the subway
Let’s clean up the graffitis
Let’s fly the balloons and the confettis
The streets will be wrapped with a giant rainbow
Soul food everywhere, hot patties and pâtés cordés
On every corner; griots, hot dogs, hamburgers
Including Asiatic and African cuisines
Bring more lasagna, more appetizers
More soda, all kinds of rice and beans
More quiche, more kool-aid
More punch and more lemonade
Play the music, twist and crack the knees
Rock and roll and chase the bees
Oh! This is our way of celebrating Love
With the blessings of the spirits above

Notre Haïti a soif, notre pays a faim.
(Ayiti gin soif, Peuple nou nan grangou

The American G. Volans: The Flying Squirrel

For now, this is it; this is high-five time.

This is a newly enjoyable venue,

The Fierce Five, especially you

Ought to be proud by taking considerable time,

To relax, enjoy your success,

And by ignoring the delusional critics who thought less

Of you a minute ago. You are the champion,

The former under-dog that yesterday stood

No chance of winning anything. The neighborhood

Loves you unconditionally. You are the modest lion,

Tiger, My Brother…

Tiger, My Brother…

Tiger
My brother
Come out to play
Come out in May
To play
Come out of the woods
To play with the Dudes
We all understand that the cheerleaders
Are attractive, sexy and bootylicious
We all understand that they have the powers
The tricks, the seducing and dangerous
Weapons of mass destruction to destroy men
You are not alone, you are human
Man like you and I are fallible
All men are sinkable
No matter how great that we think we can swim
This mess is about you, him
And I, and all of us
