The ice around
My mouth hath shattered
Acrylic slime
From lips hath splattered
It writ upon
A canvas white
And tentative
With timid plight
Broke out of the jawless den
And wedded artform unto men

Rekindled smoke
You asked for smoke,
But kindled fire
And ashes rolled beneath your feet.
But if you lived without desire
Betrayed your wrath for something higher
Then there'd be smoke without fire
And love would spring up from the heat.

Divine Solitude
Her eyes divine in solitude
Painted on Autumn skin
Through opaque sky look desperately
And much to their chagrin
Find no one to reflect their glance;
No solace in the dark
And not a soul to share romance
No eyes to see her spark

Canaries
Canaries land atop a church
And sing an airy tune
As if on cue the bell does chime
And they fly to the moon
Cathedral leaving their small sight
They flit into vast space
And the Earth woven with their song

The tundra of its metal sheet
Spreads farther than you think
Just look away from your own eyes
Lean both hands on your sink
And look at the reflective waves
Of depth upon the door
The doorknob, and the lighting
And the blood upon the floor
