Hologram
I try to find the tricky balance
Between two pictures on a card
One has a girl, kissing to no one
The other, birds flying away
No matter how well my hands turn it
No matter how well my eyes squint
I cannot get the gentle lass
To kiss the birds a kind goodbye

The Ironic Fruit
I am the apple on the branch
After a heavy rain
And probably, the only fruit
To bear the cool dew's pain
I look upon my neighbors
That rejoice from stormy climes
And in sorrow I am swallowed
For I weep for drier times...
Yet the more I tend to cry
The less chance I have to dry

The Psychic
The wax spit on her veiny hands
The wick swayed in the air
The mantra hung
As did her face
Enveloped in despair
Her hands gave birth to the tarots
Unfolding in the smoke
The chanting
In my ear
Had grown, the quieter she spoke
No sooner had she screamed at me
In awful, tearing cry
And shaking, sweating
Said to me
'Tomorrow you shall die.'

Snow
It sinks like foam beneath my feet
Before my very toes
The hills of dandruff cover peat
And claw through barren roads
The pale sheets
Of paper white
Trek through the earthly soil
Not pausing for a brief respite
From all the brutal toil
The snow awaits the rays of light
The sun brings to its skin
And waits in shadows of the night
For winter to begin

Moving Windows
Behind a wall of moving windows,
I wave from the leaving train
Trying hard to reassure you,
Bring a smile to your pain
I can feel your tears are cracking
Concrete on the platform floor
You run forth to tracks below you
Like you swim towards sandy shore
I still see your shadow running
When I sleep and when I wake
There I feel your love forever
And your infinite heartache

The Accentuated Curls
To twist around is a crime
It will distract the follicles
From being so sublime
The scissors dance around my curls
Waltzing through my particles
As barber John around me whirls
And sings- a jubilant, Italian song
And other barbers sign along
To juicy, creamy melodies,
While mirrors show my vanities
And carefree and distorted
The hair will be rewarded
With admiration from the rest
All people will boldly attest
That my hair is so wonderful,
That my hair is so beautiful,
That my hair has much grace
And it distracts from that hideous, grotesque face.

Milky Tears
As the creek wherein I lay began to overflow
I looked upon the waterfall that poured like milky cream
And let the tender milkmaid fill the shallow, naked Earth
And pour onto the river, a quiet, gentle stream
And as my body sharply bent to sit atop the rocks
Under the cool of water stringy in its wavy trail
My eyes froze very sharply, like an iceberg in the sea
And in a bow and eyebrow rest, I began to wail
And as the dew falls off the crimson roses
So did my tears dropp in the winding lake
And only joy did dropp into the silky liquid
For only beauty did my eyes intake

Sleep
When my mom came
Inside my room
I was under a blanket
And water smooth on window panes
Was trickling in the rain
The candles burned
When the wax curled
And fell on my mom's finger
And softly I
Without a sound
Sat up inside my bed
And put my finger onto hers
And calmly I just said,
'You mustn't weep
You mustn't cry
For daddy didn't really die.
He's waiting for us in his room
He will wake up

The Desire To Feel
My feelings just cannot explain
What does it feel like in the rain
Or how the moon looks in the night
Or what it feels like to be right
Or what it feels like just to stare
Into the blankness of the air
Or how it is to hug a friend
With love and care and sentiment
How does it feel to love for once
To have a thirst for sweet romance
To share an evening in a room
Oh, how I hope this happens soon
So I can feel that warm embrace
To give me courage, and some grace
So I can reach the world again

Ivory Keys
A pianist sat on his stool
The throng had hushed away
And when the violin had strummed
His fingers hovered in the air
And then began to play
A thousand pairs of eyelids
Bowed and fell into a trance
And ivory still echoing
The audience dozed gracefully
As thoughts broke into dance
The ecstasy on faces grew
To vivid, joyous smiles
And as the keys sped quicker now
The pianist grew fiercer
