When she was far away, to her I brought you near
And in time of discord, for you I intervened
When she's in doubt I told her how you really feel
When you're at fault apologies I brought to her
When you're in gloom, to soothe you I was always there
Loyal I was to you, servile without complaint
Then things went wrong and now far away she is gone
Your heart's burning with rage and in flame now I am
Is that how you repay... what I get in return?
Will blame be my reward for all the tasks I've done
By fire you rid of me, by fire I will depart
The color of my flame, red as your bleeding heart
With the smoke leaving me, your dreams have flown away
And with tears in your eyes, to them we say goodbye
And like my dying flame flicker the memories
You try to recollect from the gleam of my light
Fades the last of my flame, ends the beat of your heart
Ashes are my remains, yours is a broken heart

'Ice drop! Ice drop! ' 'Bata! Magkanong ice dropp mo? '
'Ang isa ay diyes, tatlo'y beinte-singko.'
'Saan ka dadaan sa pagbabalik mo? '

The Prisoner
Convicted I am now of an offense called 'Love'
The prison I am in is but a broken heart
The penance I must serve is to forever weep
With the aid of this poem, I am trying to escape
I clearly remember the offense that I had
I attempted to steal another woman's love
A love not half as much as that for you I feel
A love I never thought, would end my every dream
To reenter your heart, truly I did repent
With the hope that once more, your love I will regain
Sorrow was unto me, when I knew in the end
That the door of your heart for me is tightly sealed
And instead here's what happened you have imposed on me
A penalty much more than death, I've to serve painfully
The plaintiff were your lips, the jury is your mind
And your heart is the judge who tries me and decides

Ang dala ay lambat, malapad at bilog
May mahabang lubid na pinaka-buntot
Ang dulo sa kamay ay nakapulupot
Para laging hawak kahit na lumubog
Hawak pa rin kahit malayo'ng inabot
Sa laylayan ay mga tinggang pabigat
Para pag inihagis ay lulubog agad
At para ng isda ay di maiangat
Ang iba kung minsan ay meron pang kuuko
Lupi sa laylayan para isda'y recohido
Bago ito maihagis ay hinahati muna

Emoticons in my Life
Already In childlhood I had emoticons
of cry when I hungered and I longed for my mom
A lost toy is sorrow, the sting of ant is pain
A friend who went away left icons of despair
And then childhood I left onto adolescence
Everything around me began to have a sense
Emotions have causes so do emoticons
I myself cannot make my icons on my own
In my bachelorhood came the icon of frown
The incertitudes of love I could not understand
Came to me the icons of sorrow and despair
When in the field of love woefully I did fail
In the end I regained icons of hope and joy
when the heart of the woman that I love I won
Emoticons of anger in my manhood did come
Emotion I supressed, did not show everyone
Emotional outbursts I hid and overcome

Araw na nagdaan natin nilingon ko
Aking inaninaw, dahilan ba'y ano

Ang Bubo ay isa pang uri ng umang
Na sa tabing ilog, do'n inilalagay
Sumusubang hipon ay inaabangan
Maliliit na version, nasa gitnang ilog

Ako ay papunta sa mundong ibabaw
Nang ang liwanag mo'y una kong mamasdan
Liwanag na siyang matiyagang gumabay

On my way to this world, I did first see your light
Light that guided the ways of the first pair of hands
that placed me on the bed, be at my mother's side
From the dark little world wherein, before, I was
I saw the tears you shed, knew not what they were for
Were they tears of pity - my life woeful would be
Or were they tears of joy - I would live happily
Again I saw your light, it was baptismal day
Candles in many hands, I heard pledges for me
