Barbs of Ridicule
Like a bolt of thunder, her laughter pierced my ears
And in my shattered world, left shards of broken dreams
Cut deep into my heart, left barbs of ridicule,
mockery that her heart, cannot to me belong
Our worlds cannot be one just like oil and water
I cannot be an arc in her circle of friends
The memories of her always touching the barbs
Spill the poison of pain that she left in my heart
Benumbing my senses, my flesh, my thoughts, my mind
And then you came to me with the sweetest of smiles
Your words, your love, your touch soothe like the taste of wine
Made my world whole again, filled my being with joy
Took away from my heart the barbs of ridicule

PAMAMARIL
Pamamaril ng isda ay maaring gawin
Sa pamamagitan ng baril na de hangin
O ng de pulbura, low or high caliber
At saan ba ito puwedeng isagawa
Maaring sa ilog, sa look o sapa
Any body of water na mayroong isda
Nang ang tilapia ay di pa dumadating
Palagi nang dalag ang siyang nababaril
Para ang hunter ay di kita ng isda
Ng camouflage or blind, siya ay gumagawa
Sa tibag, sa puno, siya ay pumupuwesto
Minsan ay sa tiyakad na ang paa'y tatlo
Ang dalag kahit na hindi tamaan mo
Ng dahil sa shockwave siya ay nahihilo
Bago magkamalay dapat damputin na
Kung lalim ang tubig ay sisisirin pa

Beautiful Rainbow
How wonderful you are, my beautiful Rainbow
Dressed in garment of red, orange, green, indigo
and of other colors, violet, yellow and blue
Can there be anyone more beautiful than you
I wanted to touch you, feel if you're warm or cold
and from here towards you I started to walk
And after miles of trek, I were near you I thought
You simply disappeared, when to you I was close
Yes, there is somebody beautiful as you are
She is the one I love and to you similar
To her I'll say Hello! , to me she'll say Goodbye!
She simply disappears each time I make a try
to say the words of love and my feelings express
Untamed as a Rainbow, as elusive she is
She would stay away, and be beyond my reach

A Tree
Although I grew up on a dry, infertile soil
I thank the 'Gardeners' by whose means I was sown
Shielded me from the heat, guarded against storms
And tended me until into a 'Tree' I've grown
Into a 'Tree' I've grown although not big and strong
The 'Fruits' I bore were sweet, pleasant to everyone
Did not leave a bad taste on other people's tongue
The leaves I wore were scant but provided a shade
To those who were weary and those who seeked relief
In my own little way, comfort to them I gave
Now I'm old and sapless, the leaves I had were gone
My branches and twigs dry, stretched towards the sun
Begging that I once more be given strength and life
So I'll be again of whatever worth I might

Each time I'm on the boulevard
You're there with me, walk by my side
But talk to me you'd never do
A thing I would expect of you
When in a movie house I sit
I'm not alone, to me you're next
I never, never taste your lips
Although I hunger for your kiss

I dine alone, for you I wait

On my way home at the bus stop

Ang sabi mo noon, ako ang mahal mo
Kahit nandadalang na itong buhok ko
Nakakita ka lang ng mas pogi't guwapo
Ay lumimot ka na, iniwanan ako
Sawing kapalaran, hindi ko matanggap
Ako ay kumuha ng isang bulaklak

The 'Right Brothers
Once there were two brothers, Wilbur and Orville Wright
Bicycle their passion, their obsession was flight
To put an aeroplane in a high altitude,
Their dream of a lifetime, a dream pursue the would
At first they did it wrong, and the future seemed blight
But in 1903 finally did it Wright
When the Great Aerodrome failed to become aloft
One December 8 from a Potomac houseboat
Some estimated that Man will conquer the air
Not within a lifetime but in a million years
It did not take that long, it took only nine days,
17th December, year nineteen hundred third
In North Carolina, in a place called Kitty Hawk
The Wright's first aeroplane from ground to air took off
A machine that is much, much heavier than air
To the cheers of the crowd, up and airborne became

Sa ating buhay ay mayroon pa kaya
Na sa ating ina'y higit pang dakila
Ina na nagtaya ng sariling buhay
Nang sa mundong ito'y tayo ay isilang

Nang ako'y bata pa'y nagtataka ako
Kung bakit lagi nang may ulol na aso
Ito ay hinahabol ng mga tao
May dalang pamalo na kahoy o tubo
Kahit makarating pa sa ibang barrio
Kaming mga bata ay takut na takot
Di namin malaman kung saan susuot
