Mandy Lee

Be still, but be in vigour.

Listen.
The winds of change blow at your feet.
Listen.
They call your name and feed your heart.
Listen.
They tell you what you want and more,
listen.

Just stop, and listen.
They know you,
truly,
and they are simply here to show you the way.

They know the quivering child who fears the world who resides inside your soul.
Listen.
They bring you no harm, so
listen.

Listen and just be glad.
Your angels have come to take you home.

I Still Hate The System

The country will get want to wants,
but there will be souls with dreams unfulfilled.
Perhaps that is a good thing.
For un-quenched thirsts are fuel for fire in the belly.

A nation with fire in its pits breed a desperate nation.
And desperate men will rid obstacles in their path.
A desperate man has no fear, he has nothing to lose.
And yet he sits there in desperate quiet and frustrated contemplation, still feeling mighty mighty sad.

Knight Brotherhood

The metalic clash of bronze,
the sweeping sound of steel.
The first draw of swords,
in their weilder's hands feel.

Through the drawn out years,
a bloody war do we wage.
Only to be recorded,
in a single blood-stained page.

We can never stop,
for no solution can we find.
We are stuck forever,
in this eternal bind.

Once best of friends we were,
now backs turned away.
May this quest for blood finally end,
that much we both pray.

Sinister Isolation

Have you heard of isolation?
Being with yourself...
Isn't none too fancy,
even for your health.

It isn't safe to speak,
to yourself all alone.
It means you are losing it,
down to the very bone.

But what does it matter,
when life you see no more.
And what sight you do retain,
is fixed on Death's door.

You have searched for a reason,
from the ground to the sky.
So isn't it just funny,
You're the one whose life's purpose... is to die.

I don't understand why we love.

Love will tear your heart in two
and patch it back in place.
It will leave you hanging on a thread
and leave marks you can't erase.

It will haunt you in your dreams
and make you giddy while you're awake.
It will be the craving you can't satisfy,
it will be more than you can take.

It will be the fire that keeps you going,
it will be the burden that brings you to your death.
It will be the drug that keeps you high -
innocent sweet sugar, or deadly crystal meth.

Mental Infliction

A sheet of paper fresh and new,
Reflects the sky ever blue.
Ink that seeps and runs through its veins,
Inflicts on a reader mental pain.

All things white can be black inside,
They shall surface, all things that hide.
What is hidden now may not be for long,
Today it's safe but tomorrow it's gone.

Safeguard yourself and lock the door,
Keep on hiding but you're safe no more.
The damage no longer comes from outside but within,
No matter what darkness will win.

Are we allowed to be human too?

There is a bittersweet taste in hard work,
when it costs you something to see it through.
It is a taste that feeds a memory,
of things you never got to do.

They say it gets easier,
when you are doing something you love.
But what if your heart is torn,
and it's broken more times than just in two?

Between peoples, place and things,
when it is for their sake you work so hard,
where, when, how and why do you draw a line,
and learn that you have the permission, to stop?

Was I Naive To Think That I Could Be Loved?

Would the world feel different if I were to let go?
Would the shells of our bodies be able to smile a little more?
Would you, the soulmate I have yet met, know to feel a gaping hole in your heart?

Would you, the memories that will not cease to plague me, finally learn to end?

In the world that is a playground,
In this life that is the sandbox,
would you have enough humanity to handle my heart with a fraction of care?
-I once thought, long ago, that I deserved more than this.

Crumble that foothold, be rid of those thoughts.

Only fools hold onto memories that hurt them so much.
Every moment you relive it, even if it was just a touch;
A touch that made everything thereafter feel like a sin;
A touch and memory that made you say the darkness would win.

'LET GO! ', 'BEGONE! ' are the things you want to shout,
but why are you then the teapot which refuses to open its spout?
You say you want to move on and you no longer want to be that fool,
if that's the case, wake up; darkness is using your memories as a tool.

Realisation

Suddenly I see the light,
It was never far.
I was just too engrossed,
In my own tiny jar.

I always failed to notice,
The people I had within.
The support they always gave me,
The things that made me grin.

They say happiness is hard to find,
Now I know it's not true.
It was just always there,
waiting patiently for you.

(& additional stanza with permission from wojja :)

Once you've seen the light,
it can always shine again.
Though sometimes behind a cloud,
