Questions of a child

When a parents' fight feels like a child's own.
When years have past, but you don't feel grown.
When you can still feel as frustrated as when you were young.
When thrown words aimed not at you still feel like they have stung.

Perhaps that is just how I feel.

Darkened garden

Wilted blades streak the lawn
of this cold and empty heart.
Death and vice and love's despair
have come to play their part.

They've stripped bare the trees
of gold and colour that used to grow.
Even trees and air can feel the ache,
of the love I used to know.

Pain and Sorrow

Tears fill my heart,
I cry in the darkness,
I cry in the shadows,
I cry in the moonlight,
alone and afraid.

The pain engulfs me,
taking me away,
yet keeping me chained.

My mind screams,
my body aches,
for these painful memories
are forever etched in my heart.

Forsaken Knowledge

The tree of wisdom,
once proud and tall,
now a shadow of its former self.

Amber tears roll down its trunk,
falling to the now baren ground.

Knowledge once sought far and wide,
is now forsaken.

In this desolate place,
the great tree of knowledge,
is left to die.

Keep the locks,
dropp the key.
Free your mind
and come with me.

Come alone,
come real fast.
Leave your worries,
leave your past.

Leave the things
you hate the most.
Sail the seas
and leave the coast.

Say goodbye
don't turn around.
Don't be the lost,
be the found.

Sakura Kiss

You caressed me,
you took my hand,
brought it close,
held me in your arms.

We embraced,
moments which
lasted a lifetime.

You hugged me tight,
whispered in my ear,
made me smile,
and weep all the same.

Then you faded,
leaving a bigger emptiness
than when we first met.

True Strength, Finding Yourself

Failing doesn't make you a failure,
it only makes you stronger.
Don't listen to their hateful words,
For they see the truth no longer.

They're just jealous you see,
they've got no hidden talents to set free.
'Cause in this world, life's too short
to not be who you want to be.

What Is Identity?

Identity is not a given;
it is a song; it is a quest.
It is a journey and its trials,
not just the outcome of a test.

It is the continual burning of a flame,
not the marks that a burning flame leaves.
It is but the choices that you wrought,
not just the tapestry destiny weaves.

Hallucination.

There is a malicious being in my room,
it looms behind my ear.
Its gentle breaths pound through my heart
and strike me with great fear.

Crouched beneath my bed, under covers lay,
my courage now resides.
If it's come to claim my soul,
I hope my conscience finds a good place to hide.

When life has turned you bitter, and truth you see no more.

We all fight our battles,
we all fight our wars.
We all open chasms,
we all close the doors.

Fight while you can,
fight while you might.
Fight but in vain,
against one's own loveless light.

Victory but a veil,
of lies, treacheries and deceit.
Lie to yourself. Go on,
we all do.
