And The Groom Said:
Forty words:
I tell the moon and stars that shine
Life is divine now you are mine
Your beauty glows with fairer hue
Since all my heavenly dreams came true
Beethoven's Romance will ever play...
Oh the glory of our wedding day.

The Ever Popular Street
Rictameter Poem.
Fleet Street
that ancient door
where the printing machines
produced editions by the score
Hearts were aglow with paperboys calling
they made family life complete
and thanks went to London
to a place called
Fleet Street.

That Lonesome Word
'Poverty'
As far as the eye can see
no other word in our vocabulary
begins with letters p-o-v.
The word stands all alone
calling for our sympathy,
humanity, love and charity.
Let us hope this lonely word
will soon be swept into history.

Wonderful Colours
Rictameter
syllables 2-4-6-8-10
and return.
Rainbow
sent a sweet glow
after that pouring rain
magic taking our breath away
God's own masterpiece on display
all 'Nature-Lovers' will admire
but the sky's not afire
it's just one more
Rainbow

Statesmen
Rictameter
syllables
2-4-6-8-10
and reverse.
Treasured
and well-valued
are the men of culture
enlightened in the finer arts
their legislative Acts seldom falter.
Ministry with genuine hearts
faithfulness we honour
they are always
Treasured

Down To The White Cliffs
Forty Words:
At Mayfair, we met
Mayfair was fun, you bet!
But soon as shopping was over
We left Piccadilly and Leicester Square
Caught a train down to Dover
Enjoying the southern air
And the bluebirds of paradise.
'God answered our prayer'.

Twins Celebrate
Forty words:
Twin love floats on air
the fourth week of September;
happy smiles are everywhere
each year we remember.
In fantasy you speak my name
setting my heart and soul aflame
because it's birthday time again
the fourth week in September.

Sad Days In Reverse
Every smile becomes a poem
Every prayer, a Holy Verse
A dream becomes a simple sonnet
As my happy thoughts disperse.
Every song becomes a love song
Every flower, a 'shepherd's purse'
Acquaintances are correspondents
And sad days are in reverse.

Limelight Of Success
Success
Was his sole aim
He purchased a mansion
Longing to find glory and fame
Maybe meeting a beauty of fashion
Two titled people Sir & Dame
With such great attraction
And passion for
Success

Sweet Love Is All
Forty words - He to She.
Now, I'm here beside you
Making that brand new start
'Solitude' has been my home
Since we've been apart.
But today, sweet love is all,
The Milky Way ~ our home.
Oh to hear your magic call
Now 'Solitude' has flown.
