A Goodnight Kiss From Afar

Sleep well dear shining star
Fall into dreams soft embrace
I cant be just where you are
But I promise I'm not too far away
So sleep tonight beneath the sky
Knowing that I will be here
Sleep tonight for day is nigh
You've nothing left in life to fear

Your Darker Side

The cord of life quickly unwound
as it follows its turns round and round
the pain She feels which knows no bounds
will hardly stop till she makes a sound
of primal hate and hurt inside
and from consciousness her world will slide
bound by something you cannot see
unbreaking in the churning tide
laying with whom you cannot be
the one she believes is by her side
and now she lays there dead yet alive
because of you, your darker side.

Maybe All I Have Is Hope... But That's Enough

The dark I see surrounds me
Your retreating steps frighten my very soul
Where have you gone?
I can't see.
I try to follow through life's push and pull
But I've been fighting this so long...
I'm trying so hard to stand up for you
To carry you through the storm brewing here
But you end up pulling ME through
To little I give you is what I fear.
It take so little for you to let go
A slip of the hand in the freezing snow
But still you hold tight
Keeping me safe
As I'd always keep you.
If you ever find yourself alone at night
Remember these words.
I love you, True.
I won't give up on you.

One Calm Night

I've heard stories of these nights
The sky is dark and dim
The resounding ring of the fights
The never ending din
But in the dark you see a star
A light so bright and clear
And though I don't know where you are
I know you must be here
To steal away the pain I feel
To turn my heart from stone
And it's before you now I kneel
Basking in the light you've thrown
And when it shines upon my face
You'll see my horrors flee
When it shines upon this place
I know your here with me
That's all I have and all I can
I tell you this is true
With all the being that I am
I'm happy now I'm here with you.

A Tongue No Longer Used

My thoughts crawl to paper
My heart the pen I hold
My tongue is but a rapier
But my ink my very soul
So I hold back my fowl tongue
And write instead my tears
Without a sound air escapes my lungs
For I have learned from years
Though sharp I can be I shall not
No glory in death be had
Instead I shall hold fast my lot
And make my place in life less sad
For when your life is made to kill
Your life cannot be true
For when it's others blood you spill
Their life spills unto you
No longer yourself but an empty shell
A place where you once lived
This place now your living hell
The happiness taken with the shiv.

Paradox

In the dark, the deep, the gray
I will lose the fight today
For in the end I am weak
A pawn in the greater play of things
For in the end the words I speak
Are not the words I want to hear
The words I speak cut my heart
Through and through a driven spear
I try to seem so indifferent
But all I do is care
So when you leave the words I say
Should be my words of despair
I can't stand to watch you leave
But all I do is stand and stare
My eyes glass, my heart my fear
So easy to break despite my walls
The cage I built to protect myself
There is no floor, and I will fall
My walls will crumble in on me
For I build them to quickly

I Fight Today

Numb is what I feel
Today I dream black
I've turned my blood to steal
To withhold the sharpened tact
Though the world tears me down
I stand here tall and sure
My battle cry now I sound
Begin a new war tour
I shall not be so easily felled
Cut down here where I stand
My anger not so easily quelled
A backlash I shall land
My blade is raised against you
My armor light and swift
I will move my blade true
Through you I'll cut a rift
Separate you from your will
As you tried to do to me
This is the most brutal kill
Wait and you are sure to see

The Lightning

I am lightning
A light here then gone
I am lightning
A flash quick and strong
I am lightning
My life to short to tell
I am lightning
The ground scorched where I fell

I am lightning
I never strike in twos
I am lightning
I shatter your light's fuse
I am lightning
Destroying what I touch
I am lightning
And I live as such

A storm has come upon me

Weapon of Angels

Words fill my head with incoherent thoughts.
What have I said?
Have I learned what's been taught?
Think before you speak,
A strange unreasoned truth,
But I find reason now as I pit nail to tooth.
I claw at the glass sides,
The container of my mind.
So fragile and open,
Yet with no escape to find.
My heart lays below me,
Beating shallow in harsh light.
My words,
An angel's weapon,
Has been this poor girls blight.
I filled her heart with hope,
But it soon gave to despair.
The bridge that I was crossing,
I found in disrepair.
It crumbled from beneath me,

My Labyrinth

Tell me now of the maze
The place you went to search, to gaze
To try to find what I have hid
To try to crack, to break the lid
The cap I have forced upon emotion
The one I used to stop devotion
For I have made a labyrinth
A place to keep all my sins
I have made a labyrinth
And in my maze my heart is hid
These walls I built
So I could be a man of tin
To banish my feelings from the world
So tell me how did you get in.
A map of my maze you've unfurled
You followed it and found my chest
The box I made my self forget
You opened it and then you left
And then Death and I nearly met
So now I sit here alone
