John Dillenger II

It's Not Yet Over

A bleeding heart hits the page
The deep red stain sinks through
The soft sent of burning sage
Signals the death of you
But come to life my dear friend
It's not your time to go
You may think this is the end
But I will not believe it is so
So come to life again today
The light my just be near
Fight your way through the fray
And do not fight the tears
The pain you feel is true I know
But loss is not always forever
Though your thrown to and fro
I refuse to cause this sever
My dear friend stay here with me
The eternal night has not yet come
My dear friend just wait and see
We can make it if we run

My Only Thoughts

How long ago did you hold me last
The memories of what has been
How have we let time go so fast
I hope it slows before the end
Those times I miss, your soft embrace
Those beautiful eyes
Your lips taste
But now you wear your disguise
Trying to fool the world
The fake face is your demise
The truth will be unfurled
So why do you hide
My love frozen in time
Why do I feel this thorn in my side
With empty words I made to rhyme
I cannot fill the hole where your heart once was
For nothing can be so whole
Yet I try and nothing does
So time once again takes its toll
Will you hear me Scream?

Alone On the Beach

The ocean waves lap at my feet, the warm salt speckled water warming me against the soft breeze. Soft tan sand as fine as dust shifts beneath my feet. The sun still sits above the horizon, which was good, because she wasn't here yet. I've been waiting so long. I stopped counting the days when I began to lose hope, but I still wait for her. She is so lost in here own mind, so confused by over-analyzing thoughts. She's so much like me, yet so very different. Her music plays through my head, over and over, it brings me so close to her heart, because that's the only time she leaves it open. But it makes me sad, because she's so far away. The sun dies behind the water. She's not here so there is no beauty in its passing. I've spent yet another day alone on this crowded shore.
I think back to so many nights ago, she held me against her heart as I finally fell to pieces, no longer needing to be so strong. Then she left. I don't want to feel the pain so I tell myself its not real and force it to leave me be, so I can stand alone on this crowded beach, waiting for my heart to return.

My Moonlight Gone Away

A lightning strike
So quick and true
That lightning strike
Hit me with you
The way you were so close
Now so far away
The way we were, almost
No longer here today
Why do you flee so quickly
So desperately away
When I whisper to you so softly
Won't you please stay
The sun no longer shines
The moonlight you were so faded
I begin to read between the lines
Dreams I had sedated
The music I hear at night
Is now more sad then ever
And though try as I might
My thoughts wonder never

A Dream I Had

In the darkness of night I once had a dream
An escape from the terrors of the day
In my dream things were not as they seem
Things already gone in life had not gone away
You were still here with me
Holding me close to your heart
Your beautiful eyes I could see
The fire in my eyes began to start
The love you'd shown me was all I could feel
Your warmth against my ice cold skin
And when you left my heart turned to steal
No longer in my right mind to win.
I cannot win this fight without your strength
I've left my happiness behind
I travel down this long roads length
Searching for the savior of my mind
I pretend I'm strong enough outside
But in me I know the truth
My emotions are a raging tide
The sting of the bite with sharpened tooth

A Pain to Clear to Me

I see the pain in this world
The pain of ages so far away
I see the pain of lives been twirled
The world's too much for them today
For when a friend is so lost
All you see is the pain
His happiness dulled by the frost
Of thinking the same thought in the rain
Wondering why in the world you're gone
A question clear on his face
For wondering when he did you wrong
While he locks his door so he can pace
Back and Forth, Back and Forth
The answer to far off to hear
Back and Forth, Back and Forth
Not from the pain, but from the fear
The fear of thoughts where you disappear

So come home now from the long road you've found
Come back to him and you will see.
