No Chance For Me
Weekends gone and work it beckons
Like the film in 60 seconds
Wife is making packed up lunches
Son's upstairs he's doing crunches
Daughter's holed up in her room
itunes blaring favourite tune
God her ears they must be ringing
Mine are from her bloody singing
Cat has gone to walk it's round
And see what food is to be found
Dog is curled up on the mat
He's missed his stroll the lazy twat
Wife sits down with glass of red
And magazine she's mostly read
Reflecting on her tiring day
And wonders where's her Mr Grey

Beware The Pen
Raise your daggers raise your guns,
Rant and rave and burst your lungs
Chant on highest mountain top
Seal the roads make traffic stop
Shoot to kill as you think right
Blast with bombs in deep of night
Spread all rumours in your favour
Win each battle stop and savour
Preach to all converted lands
Shoot unless they show their hands
Send the soldiers brave and true
To do the dirty work for you
All things equal in your world
As long as it's your flag unfurled
Make your mark as you see wise
Grow your empire in the skies

Out Of Reach
I watched you always from afar your smile etched on my mind
Your walk, your voice your thoughts of me my love was never blind
I dared to walk beside you once, I dared to call your name,
But you just saw another guy and never felt the same.
I tried to be the best in all the things that life has thrown
While you had been with other guys I waited all alone.
I shared the tears along with you when they had left your side
But there was nothing I could do the feelings I would hide.
If I had been a man as such, I should have let you know
And told you just the way I felt and never let you go,
Instead I watched in silence, then to my eternal shame
As you were hurt so many times by this the loving game.
The years have past the song is sung, I wonder what we missed
If I had been a different man and we had only kissed.

The Silenced Heroes
A solitary chair, a place no longer set
Amidst the sound of silence we never will forget
A family in mourning with hearts just torn in two
A feeling of emotion so raw it swallows you
No walks on sunny Sundays, no picnics in the park
No hugs when they are needed no light when it is dark
A whole new world emerges so full of broken dreams
The heartache and the sadness normality it seems.
The politicians speeches the rhetoric of hate
They say its getting better but for you its now too late
The painfulness of living a life when they are gone
The darkest days ahead now where once they proudly shone
Take comfort in your time of need and let your spirit soar
For people of this country will support you evermore
Those bombs may break a body on unforgiving sand
But heroes find a special place, it's called the promised land.

Bess
A dress that speaks of life,
The frayed edges hang like bar codes
Spelling out her past.
Bess was content.
Her flowing auburn hair a distant memory,
Now replaced by black and white,
The colours of her age.
Bess was content.
Half way down her nose her glasses sat,
With flour coated fingerprint etched lenses
Betraying this morning's cooking
Bess was still content
Soft slippers now where once heels were worn,
Her stoop a testament to such fashion
The hips a little broader now,
Bess was still content.

Salad Days
Once upon a summertime In days now sadly past
We ran we played, a world of time, oh... that it should last
Without a care of busy times, so seldom seen again
We lived a world through child.s eyes... every day a game.
The summer sun our constant friend, forever it would seem,
The rainy days a faded part, of this our childhood dream
The throes of summers growing pains, now left so far behind
The smell of grass so freshly cut, stays etched upon our mind
The fields of grain that caught the wind and whispered such a tune
Of childish thoughts and innocence... they disappeared so soon.
Our friends that walked beside us, so perfect, like the games
Those memories forever ours, tho' time can lose their names
How we laughed and how we cried and yet we never knew
That these would be our salad days, so perfect yet so few...

Day's Of Summer
The scented air of summers breath, the warming summer sun
The tree-top call from Nightingale says Spring is on the run
The cattle graze at snails pace the sheep are being shorn
The cat has found the perfect place lay flat-out on the lawn
The background air is filled with noise, a tune the insects play
The crickets dance their noisy tune as they go on their way
The shimmer of the warming fields play tricks upon the eyes
The land it seems to dance and leap towards the very skies
The summer yields her grace and beauty right throughout the day
The lazy brook now slowly warming, trout in shadows stay

In Fame We Trust
A million lines that write my lifetime
I don't have a say
Ridiculous and yet just sublime
Make them go away.
I wished for all that money bought
Hell is now my home
It wasn't quite what I had thought
'Oh please leave me alone! '
The flashing lights a camera click
The shouts of 'look and smile! '
From people who just make me sick
And chase my every mile.
No God can save my mortal soul
I have nowhere to hide
For fame is just the blackest hole
That eats you from inside.

Buzzin
Head is always buzzing as the days are flying by
The world is just a blur today think i'm gonna cry
There aint no time for manners and the lies are guaranteed
All the people round me seem to have a different need
I ask a simple question and the answers never come
I think I need a holiday somewhere with loads of sun
Sitting down and drinking mean would be a worthy cause
No telephone like back at home no knocks on office doors
But I must sit amongst this shit and while my days away
Cos holidays are just a dream I never save my pay
So when I'm home i'll ditch the phone and kick back in the chair
And listen to some Marley tunes it's just like i am there
Now if your feeling down and blue and life is just a chore
Slam dunk the phone leave it alone it's just another bore
Party hard and party fast let music be your master
Enjoy your life forget the strife you won't die any faster

The Devil Wears Red.
The face of evil knows my creed
Sets a chair at my table of hate
Loud cheers at sight of my deadliest deed
Oh! .. lost souls can always just wait
Our source of believers is plentiful too
For accomplices we rarely seek
Just ordinary people like me and like you
With a penchant to pray on the weak
My evil is such that my foes simply wilt
My being offends a whole host
I feed on such people so riddled with guilt
On my plight to spread evil I boast.
A quantum of thoughts is all i require
No salesman's patter from me
I pander to those with a greedy desire
And hell is their true destiny
