My Dry Roses

Today is not your birthday,
However, it is a very illustrious day
To offer you the dry roses
That I soaked in a lot of love from head to toes.

These dried flowers, although picked some time,
Will infinitely remain fresh like a wrapped buried dime.
You will neither have to feed them like children,
Nor water them like the camellias in the vipers' garden.

My crystallized roses transcend the four seasons,
They are protected by deadly thorns and one crazy smurf;
The rocks are part of this solemn army.

There are no bad days on earth;
Every day has its own criteria and beauty.
My roses are endless like time and the horizon.

You Left Without an Au Revoir

You fled like the last summer breeze,
Without whispering a word; without a tease.
I am sadly disappointed; I thought you were different.
I thought that you were a special plant,
You had a sweetly exotic smell,
And you would gently usher me under your spell.

Instead, you crushed me in a cruel and unusual way;
You surreptitiously broke my heart,
You abruptly and unnecessarily took me apart.
Oh! You miserably failed to make my day.
You vanished like the last spring frost,
You abandoned me in sadness and in lust.
I am left to fight the demons and the stooges alone.
You fled without an au revoir, without humming a last song.

We Die From Time to Time

We die from time to time;
We cannot reverse the clock.
We are born, we grow, and we pack;
We get sick, we heal, and we reach our prime;
We get older and we die effortlessly,
Without being cognizant of the damage.
We see another day and we age;
We are dying slowly and surely.

Let's go back to the videotape,
Let's reexamine the face in the mirror,
And take a curious look at an old picture;
We will see that the images in the old tape
Look younger and happier.
Time always does that to us, and the past
Is full of great memories that pass
Like the wind during a stormy weather.
We Die From Time to Time,
Even during prime time.

Yes, yes, We all can…

(Dedicated to Our Brother President)

Yes, yes, We all can stop the violence,
Stop all non-sense,
Stop all negative vibrations,
And stop all ugly notions.
Yes, yes, we, all, can love each other,
Respect Mother Nature,
Father Creature,
All wave, shade and color.
Yes, yes, We all can be better,
Think brighter,
Behave smarter,
And protect each other.
Yes, yes, we all can reach for the stars,
Achieve, and succeed in spite of the scars,
In spite of injustice and discrimination,
In spite of prejudice and humiliation.
Yes, yes, We all can stop being naïve
And can only be optimistically positive.

This Valentine’s Day...

You and I will take a trip
To somewhere we have never been before
We will visit the hut with the golden door
And the blue lake so you and I can dip
Our bodies and souls in the heaven
Of love that only you and I can invent
You and I will create our own event
Our own fantasy: a delicious turkey in the oven
A bottle of wine, one glass, one knife,
One fork, one towel and one inflated bed
That’s the recipe of a wonderful life
You and I, alone, in a place that looks dead
You and I are playfully sharing each other
The butterflies are away, the birds are singing
The weather is very nice and inviting
And you and I are under the same cover.

Journeys In Paradise

I wonder
I ponder

When you left
What were you thinking of?
Did you expect to find Love
Or Death?

Life could have been different
Youth does not know any better
Life would have been better
Youth is eerily nonchalant.

We long for perfect days
That will never come
Yesterday disappeared in the blaze
What remain are ashes and foams.

We wonder
We ponder

I Love My Wife Forever and Ever

God created a near perfect man.
Using some parts of his previous masterpiece;
He also created a beautiful woman,
So the man and the woman can live forever in peace

We know now that nothing is perfect,
Under the dome of today's heaven;
Our earth is no longer the haven
That God built with divine intellect.

With the blessings of the Almighty God,
I will love my wife forever and ever;
I will make sure that she will never be sad;
And I will blindly follow the rules of the Creator.

I love her; I love my wife forever,
And I pray that the feeling is mutual;
Love will forever glue us together,
Even when the circumstances are unusual.

Vote for the Future of Big Bird

Please vote for the future of our children.
Vote to fund PBS, an oasis of knowledge, get even
On Election Day. Vote for Sesame Street,
Vote for Main Street, not Wall Street.
Vote for the re-election of the President,
Who supports student loans for our college students.
Vote for the man who is a strong proponent
Of investing in America, and in the future of our citizens.
The Hedge Fund Managers have sufficient money;
The wealthy ought to pay their fair share of taxes accordingly.
Vote for Big Bird and Main Street,
An tell Wall Street that the party is over,
No more business as usual; it is over.
Give a chance to Big Bird and Main Street.

Sombre sous l'ombre

Sombre
Sous l'ombre
C'est là
Que j'attendrai ma défaite.

Pas à pas
La tête
Altière et résignée
Je franchirai les couloirs
De la tombe
Sous le parapluie noir.

Au milieu des hécatombes
Je laisserai mes derniers
Baisers
Et les flammes
De mon âme
Affaiblies
Par ton mépris.
