2 Cute 2 Poot

Put your right hand under your left arm pit,
And flap your arm up and down just a bit.
It will sound just like you are breaking wind,
So take what you learn and go show a friend!
Try it in class, teach it to your teachers,
Do it as you run up and down bleachers.
Right smack dab in the middle of dinner,
Make your guests laugh with this sure fired winner,
And if they should happen to scream or squeal,
Explain to them that the poot wasn't real!
With practice you'll soon get the hang of it...

Put your right hand under your left arm pit!

Grounded!

I saw the report card you brought home from work!
Punished! You're punished! You drive me berserk!
No Internet surfing! Here's my decision...
No cell phone use and no television!

Just go to your room and don't make me shout!
Go straight to your room and do not come out!
No car for a month, so give me the key!
Stop pouting this instant! I'm counting to three!

Don't disobey me! Why must you be bad?
Why can't you just be a good little Dad?
Grounded! You're grounded! You know what you did!

Hey, how does it feel, Dad, being the kid? ? ?

Would You Like Orange Juice With That?

Flies ZOOM across the room,
Then with one sneaky snap,
The flies become breakfast
For the Venus flytrap!

YO! The Venus flytrap!
YO! The Venus flytrap!

Another fly must die
And flap its final flap,
Blood and guts for breakfast
For the Venus flytrap!

YO! The Venus flytrap!
YO! The Venus flytrap!

Eats a piece of Fly-Pie
And then he takes a nap!
A nap after breakfast
For the Venus flytrap!

Green Onion Shampoo

The baby-sitter's nuts! Please listen Mom, it's true!
Last night she washed my hair with Green Onion Shampoo!
Green Onion Shampoo! Green Onion Shampoo!
It smells worse than bad, and when you get through,
Your poor scalp will burn, your eyes will burn too!
Who ever heard of Green Onion Shampoo?
Why did she do that? She has a loose screw!
It's made in Cleveland! This stuff is brand new!
I don't understand! God, what did I do?
To ever deserve Green Onion Shampoo?
Promise to fire her! And trust when I say...

If you rehire her... I must run away!

To My Kindred Spirit

We share secrets, we laugh and even cry,
We have so much in common,
Concerns, likes and dislikes.
Ours is a relationship joined by
Tender velvet chains that link our
Similar dreams of life and love.
A gentle intuition guides us in our
Individual struggles to succeed,
To stand out from the crowd.
In you I have found so much of myself,
Including many of the same
Insecurities and philosophies.
Complete inner-peace and happiness,
These are the things I wish for you,
In the present and in the future
Because you are my kindred spirit.

A Piece of Sky

No one can own a color; no one can own a cloud.
No one on Earth could ever, I'm glad it's not allowed!
No person owns a person, though some may think they do.
No person owns the ocean; I know this to be true!
I cannot own a sparrow, I cannot own a tree.
Even in my own backyard they don't belong to me!
No one can own the starlight; no one can own the sun.
No person owns a river, it simply can't be done!
No one can own a desert, the planets or their moons.
We’re all just One Race: Human, same words with many tunes!
No one may claim ownership to TEAR or SMILE or SIGH!
Or take away your DREAMS so...

Pulling Habits Out of Rats

I’m no genie or Houdini,
I’m The Famous Rob Kabob.
Hocus-pocus I must focus,
I must think to do my job.
First I get in this position,
While the rat sits very still.
I’m part Shrink and part Magician,
And it takes a secret skill.
People ask, 'Rob what’s your job? '
But they figure I am joking,
When I tell them I help rats
To stop drinking and stop smoking.
Some rats are such nail-biters,
Still others tend to overeat.
I wave my magic wand 3 times,
And PRESTO my work is complete.
I no longer miss my old job,
Pulling RABBITS out of HATS.
I’m The Famous Rob Kabob,
I pull HABITS out of RATS!

Down-Low Dane

she manages
to have someone...
(SCARCE is her word)
firm is her grasp
he pulls her close
hot venom sweet
joy-slithering
like Cleo's asp
this afterlife
of neverlands
and promises
once made to me
by serpent same
on distant bed
when i believed
his eyes like she
i understand
the afterthoughts
of aftershave
and safety found

A Rose For You

Today I picked a rose for you,
It seemed the perfect thing to do.
To me the petals represent...
Unfolding years and time well-spent.
An emblem of our lives in bloom,
An ever-changing sweet perfume.
Each day to me is just as sweet,
Here with you on this quiet street.
That old bush has gotten so tall,
It's half way up the garden wall.
Wasn't too big when it was sown,
Hard to believe how much it's grown!
Joseph's Coat: What a colorful name,
Orange and Yellow with Crimson flame.
A truth so strong, a dream so pure...
In spite of thorns hope will endure!
Poetic? Yes, but I suppose,
That's what I like about a rose...
A symbol of what's rare and true,
Today I picked a rose for you.

Nursing Home Eyes

Look into my window,
Observe silk flowers
Swaying to a ceiling fan breeze,
And a wallflower,
Wheelchair-bound at that.
Through the endlessness of hours,
I wait and watch, looking out
Past concrete and undernourished shrubs,
I see cars and bikes rushing by,
They keep me company.
Sun-faded draperies, once red, now pink,
Speak for years that have fallen behind me.
Suddenly I'm a slave to nostalgia,
Bound by silence, and distances,
See the photographs on my vanity?
Notice how they stare back at me
With abstract smiles for the out-to-pasture.
I know they are too busy,
Everyone has their own lives to live.
Hey... would you look into my world?
