Transcending Blindness
Warp of human deed
Like the descent of dirt
To the confinement of space of her eye sockets
Transmutes her virginity
To rupture the meat of her curtains
To rape her pristine soul, uproot all virtue
For the blind to awaken from her beauty sleep
An innate blindness healed by age's miraculous interventions
As a bleak truth is ingrained to the fiber of her existence
That perpetual being soars in darkness
In the trappings of mortality, in Eve's constant shadow
As grains of vulnerability were once sowed
Perpetuating to consciences meek, the legacy of Adam's seed
Saddling us with the dirt befouling mother earth

Adonis
Tormented
By one's reflection
On the placid waters of spring
As thoughts blossom in the naïve psyche
Of beauty's empowerment
As the sins of Narcissus
Cross the mythological barrier
To smear the humility of my creation
As the humble child in me flees
To capture the apical purity of Adonis
To succumb to the myth of idyllic beauty
To submerge in reveries of sight's miscreation
To worship contours and silhouettes of divine clay
Yet the clatter of a pebble on serene waters
Metamorphoses the promise of youth
To the reverberating wrinkles of age's procreation
As Methuselah emerges to remind the eloping heart

Rhinoceros
The clamor of shields of armor
As the quintessential knight
Of the animal kingdom
Plods on the boundless savannahs
An ungainly grace yet a ferocious roar
As twirls of fir pirouette like a feisty tornado
To capture the embodiment of her heritage
The grandeur of an indomitable horn
Standing tall on the shadow of Kilimanjaro
As fairy tales and folklore reverberate
Of the greatest of them all, the albino
The one that leaped from the heavens
To be captured by a wandering virgin
To unscramble the fallacy of a cardinal myth - the fountain of chastity
As to the beholding eye, the enigma of the celestial unicorn

A supreme dome, luminescent
Amidst falling moonbeams
Sprinkled from the heavenly face
Of a spherical heiress to the throne
Of the celestial citadel, god's adobe
Her perfection only vanquished by the flare and wonder
Of marble's doming incandescence
Majestically holding her poise, yet pirouetting her splendor
A fortress entwined in the fabric of a perpetual love
Transcending time's legacy of an erosive suit
To resist nature's hemorrhagic peel, mother patience's invasive exploit
To bestow on the beholder, the life-blood of a timeless love
Undefiled from doubt or envy yet trapped in the labyrinths of mortality

I see a flickering light
Is that you?
In your hollow radiance
My heart at a junction
Where the light is too far to see
To understand
For certainty
Down that crossroad we used to walk on
That you are the one that's carrying the torch
For me
For our future together
The skeptic in me lives

Befalling chutes of destiny
As the blind loosen their shackles
Opaque folds forced open
By the thrush of light
A blindness inborn, fabric of our heirloom
A mausoleum of our third eye
Perception a myopic predicament
As jagged palisades are rooted in revelation's path of sight
Mind a sentinel yet the heart a drifter
As a simple tug by fate's transcendence
Metamorphoses man to a pilgrim
The ascent of man to the flux of impermanence

Embattled heart
In the trappings of melancholy
Searching for a light
Steadfast, looming large
Like a Lion's mane glistening in the twilight
Searching for a trapdoor of fate
To be written in the manuscripts of time
As a survivor, wounded yet gallant
The heart of a lion tugged by the vines of destiny
To hunt in the path of hope's glimmer
Shining forth like the Sun's rays scattering
To the grottoes of a den of bleeding lions
For the mane to be one with her destiny, the looming sun
To hunt in the prosperity of an untamed heart

Skin shimmering of molten ivory
Scorching in Ra's immovable gaze
As bountiful locks flow to Amun's whispers of sweet nothings
In copper's opulence of a zesty auburn patina
Tantalizing curves of a Rhodesian ridgeback
A spectacular heritage of an imperial Grevy zebra
Proudly sporting her colonial stripes and her Zulu roots
Yet bearing an unscathed legacy, the poise of an Ethiopian wolf
Absent of feudal conquests, toil's buxom union with hemorrhagic outpour
As love's enduring labor shunned alcoves of segregation
For white man's seed to be sown on sable soil
As she, an African princess, matured like a diamond in a mine

Alchemy of a Foolish Heart
Trekkers and prospectors
In the quest for that elusive place
Of the unbolted heart, El-dorado
Where all matter shimmers in the shadow of Midas
To soar in heart to where Seraphim roam
Where mountains cease to exist to gaze's capture
To the cardinal belief that man, in his labor and toil
Can be tapped for his residual traces of humanity
To sap maple syrup from stubborn boughs of apathy
To bestow sweetness to lips left bitter
By sodden mists of warped endeavor, devilish and seductive
To bestow on the dented heart, a leprechaun's bounty
To prospect gold in the direness of mines, pits of worldliness
Blinded by greed, deafened by indifference, muted by misdeed
To be untarnished of an infective sophistication

Succulent;
Ardent in candor;
Bloated with passion;
