Toby
There was once a boy called toby
'named Toby at his birth'
But after eating a potato that he hand reared from the earth
He doubted he was toby even toby from afar
And ridiculed he failed at school
After many a taunting hour of,
'Toby or not Toby? '
He learnt the soliloquy by heart
And having no answer to the question
Changed his name to 'Hamlet'
And became a 'movie star! '

The Sorrow Of Words
The sorrow of words that rarely tell themselves
They sail like brightly coloured balloons
Lost in their own universe
They spin off the edge of a tongue
kissing air and emptiness
Seldom filling loneliness
Leaving their sound like a symphony
A faint noise hanging in the air
Somewhere in the back of my mind
The radio is playing

Born
Today I was born,
Like the first ray of bright summer sun breaking,
Turning the day from the darkness
Today I was born,
Like the first bud breaking upon
Knowing it will flower
Leaving its scent in the earth
And all around the sky has opened
A pure white canvas
On which I will paint my love

If I told you
Telling grey clouds
Telling silent birds
Telling tall trees
These things
That have lain waste
This winter soil
That binds its roots around the dead
Telling all who will listen
Who will hear
That it loved once, lived here

Turning
I will not turn again
Turn again
Turn again
Turn again
To tell you that I love you
That time is gone.
And did I ever in that time
Know that love sublime,
Was always there
Hidden in a prayer?

Chocolate
Iam in love with chocolate
This rich dark intruder
This demon tantaliser of the tastebud
Its aroma consumes my senses
Its aura dissolves all reason
Its soft delights flirts upon my tongue
Devours me with one bite
And I submit and sink
Within this sepia 'whirpool'
Of epicurean delights!

I Grow Old
I grow old I should feel the cold
I grow old I should have grey hair
I grow old I should sit and stare
I grow old I should have false teeth
I grow old I should have poor sight
I grow old I should forget to write
I grow old I should have aches and pains
I grow old I should 'stroll down memory lane'
I grow old I should walk with a stick
But as I grow old I KICK ASS!

Virus
A world rocked
Shaken
Broken
Dissoloution of words
Who washed them all away?
Today I awoke to find
A 'virus in my hardrive'
Is that a metaphor for greed?
That rots the healthy guts
Of every leviathan that sunk its teeth to deep,

Writing
Today I write , not myself,
But what you want to hear
The sun shone
The trees sang
The world was at peace
Today I write not myself
But the carefully woven tunes
You have learnt to hear
That shuts out the cluttered day
The nervous speech,

Ridden
Lived in

Woken in smoke filled rooms
