Cold Feet

My feet are cold,
My skin is dry,
Since winter has come,
I must stay inside,
My candles are lit,
The scent of vanilla,
A hot cup of cocoa,
A tummy to fill up,
The dog alseep,
Without a bone,
Nothing on Television,
No ring from the phone.

Internal Light

Inside I am broken,
My internal light is out,
Inside my soul is burning,
And tossing all about,

Heavy are my heartbeats,
Like drumbeats dark and loud,
Covering my inner light,
Like a funeral shroud,

Deep within my emptiness,
I stand alone and firm,
Realizing all the while,
For pain, it is my turn,

I cannot stand to think too long,
Nor can I stand to feel,
This misery and discontent,
It all seems too unreal.

My Hunter

I look there,
Through the trees,
I eye him,
He is hunting me,

I hide myself,
Watching him,
I spy the shape of his jaw,
My site is set,
To devour him,
Powerful and raw,

There in the nakedness
Of nature,
I am illuminated and bare,
He has seized sight of me,
Captures me,
Carries me to his lair,

Although I am the prey

Inner Dimensions of My Mind

Inner dimensions of my mind,
Rocky crevices I must climb,
Seeking shelter from ugly turmoil,
My feelings toss, my soul boils,
I need serenity mighty quick,
To the curb my miseries kick,
Someone said I should let go,
But if it's time, I do not know,
In the future I can't foresee,
Of her ever forgiving me,
I've waited though my heart does know,
Forgiveness may not ever flow,
And what will I do, I dare say,
Should her heart refuse and stay,
In deep despair and isolation,
That lonely place of desolation,
All I want is for her to attain,
The place where she'll be happy again.

Great-Great Uncle Tchaikovsky's DNA

He walks so handsome, tall and lean,
Nothing grander have I seen,
In my son, this child of mine,
Harmonious mirth to ever shine,
A voice so deep and humble still,
He grabs the room despite his will,
Long fingers on a manly hand,
Commanding presence where he stands,
True and gentle when not showing,
The humble heart within him glowing,
The gift of music springs from him,
Not knowing the penchant he holds within,
Tchaikovsky blood in his DNA,
The crowds will want to hear him play,
Through his fingers to his guitar,
From morning glory and moonlit star,
To hear him play brings mortal bliss,
A mother's heart just can't resist.

January 2012

The wind is riding a roller coaster,
Blowing garbage cans everywhere,
I can hear their tussle on the driveway,
Tossing them in the air,

Another storm to blanket us,
Who live here by Lake Erie,
Another whirl of winter blast,
The sound of it is eerie,

For January the weather is,
So odd this time of year,
I read that all the flu bugs,
Are again going to appear,

Something about La Nina,
Or maybe El Nino,
I'm not sure which it is,
But we're very low on snow,

I Feel All Alone

On days like this I am all consumed,
By a heaviness,
Wondering how I got myself
Into this very mess,

This is not the path that,
I was meant to walk upon,
I feel that the steps I take
Barely touch the ground,

My dreams in my younger days,
Have all but disappeared,
The songs I sang in my head,
I can no longer hear,

The life with him had been nothing more,
Than wasted precious time,
I can’t seem to find my way,
I have fallen far behind,

Little Fish

Let us go my Little Fish,
It is time to make your wish,
I think that you should travel light,
Now blink your eyes to take your flight,

Far beyond your hopes and dreams,
To places that you've never seen,
Of purple rivers and orange snow,
Where animals talk and candy grows,

Look that way, you'll see the sun,
I hope that you are having fun,
Dipping up and twirling 'round,
Bouncing once we touch the ground,

Beanie Babies and Cinderella,
The Power Rangers and Cruella,
Animorphs and Austin Powers,
And those girls that look like flowers,
