Music From Penury
He was destined
To shoulder the family
That left in penury
As his pappa breathed last!
He had the legacy
Not of the wealth
But of the rich music
That his pappa gave!
He was introvert
And still continue to be
An introvert even on
Arrival of luck unending!
When he loitered
The streets with gnawing
Hunger and thirst
The music in his veins

Bread Is God
The kids sat around
With burning belly before the teacher
With innocent looks and gesture
And giggle to the humor
Of the teacher whose belly full.
They sat looking at the clock
And count the tick-sound of the seconds
Gazing at the needle that move
With no hasty steps or hurry
But the kids prayed the needle to speed.
They sang in chorus
With gnawing ulcerated pain
That perforated their stomach
By the gastric juices delivered
Finding nothing to assimilate
As times moved with sun

None See The Beauty Of The Other
A thirsty oarsman
Took a gulp of sea water
And spit it on the ocean's face.
The ocean was irritated
And quizzed: what are you doing!
The oarsman quipped:
Why you are roaring
And keep on earth worthless
As being tasting salt
Not worth to drink
To quench a thirsty!
It was the rivers
Running to me in tears
Worried about their parting
With the ravines they loved
That made me bitter with salt!
The ocean quivered and spelt.

Solitude In Desert
Nobody is left alone
All are accompanied by spirits
That takes no forms
That pervade the universe!
The sea is not alone
She is keeping in her womb
As much children count innumerable
She talk to sun
Even at the hot-point
And delight him at dawn and dusk!
The ocean never meditate
As she violates the silence
And keep lamenting always
Worried over the yet to born
Children in her large womb.

Arctic terns
Born in the ice-cradle
Never see an abode
In the Arctic
Arctic terns
Travel only to find
The summers and day
Not the winter chill and darkness
Arctic terns
A bird destined to travel
And to seek the apple orchards
To nest, breed and leave
To fly to the flowering summer
Of the west, the banks of Volga's
To meet the cranes of Siberia
And to flock and flee
To the unknown
And the unfamiliar
With no concern

War For Water
They fought each other
Not to catch a cattle
Not to grab land
Not to annex land
To carve out an empire
Not to become a king
But for the water!
The herdsman fought
To browse the herds
As the meadows vanish
As the deforestation
Of their forefathers
Left the bold-headed
Ghost of mountains!
They took bows and arrows

The Dracula Flower
The flower was stretching
It's hand to find a honey-bee
To be embraced and kissed!
The flower remained
In meditation to invoke God
To sent her groom
As she bore the nectar
To be sucked and emptied
By the trunk of a honey-bee
The long hairy hands
Of the flower frightened
The butterflies move wantonly
The caterpillars jumping
In quest to quench the thirst!

To Unborn Son And Daughter
Love not the son less
But he loved the son
Not to be born and burned
In the turbulence
And pathos and chaos
Of the barren earthly bond.
He loved to sleep
With his unborn son
He loved to talk and play

As none could enslave

The God-man
The horror of partition
The holocaust of maddling crowds
Still haunts from his childhood
To this age where he adorned
The mantle of a priest
Of an alien faith
As the faithful fled
And abandoned their Gods
As the pointed dagger
Of the perpetrators
Gave option to leave
The near and dear.
The ten hundred years old temple
The abode of Gods and their better halves
Left unfed and unattended
Left without an 'Aartis'
And the mountain ranges
