Half moon

In the business of mooning
Gibbous cornered half moon
Clings to the sky
Hanging off the lampposts
And smiling at the sun
Her half spat out reflection of light
Burns holes in our near sane minds
The age
The phase
The time gone by
With the moon changing moods
In her sunlit shadowed self
She croons half bit out songs
Star songs
Of night, light and her half light
Half moon
cornered moon
gibbous gibbous
shadowed moon.

"A new age for women"
Ye who preach the sermon
"A new age for women has dawned"
Or perhaps fresh propaganda spawned
I'm sorry to say what I see
Is not the fruit of life's tree
No, this screaming on the corner
Torn and white
‘half price abortion for women's day"
Come to sell your soul
Only half price you'll pay
About the mission if the new age
Has come to the this
Your idea of what is meant to be
Is inches short of bliss

If Yeats and Eve both had apples
Can't Adam share with Maya a
Or at least with one of us
The women in your circle

The old man is going home

The old man is going home
I can see it in his eyes
The old man is going home
His saying his goodbyes
The hat and coat they play their role
The suitcase standing by the wall
For a heart and soul that’s seen it all
It’s time to goodbye.

The old man is going home
Let’s help him on his way
The old man is going home
The last scene of his play
He knows home’s just a breath ahead
A fireplace some love and bread but
For a heart and soul that’s seen it all
It’s time to say goodbye.

With every step he takes
