Life begins again
Pain resides in this heart of mine,
Your pain, my pain, the world’s pain.
I carry it all.
Years have passed.
I control, I worry, I toil.
I am weary.
I have allowed so much,
Fallen victim
To my own faults.
Change is growth.
Growth is pain.
Ache no more.
Life begins again

Excerpt from 'Cats and Washing Machines Don't Mix and other tales from a Crazed Working Mother
Baby’s crying
Dog is barking
Is someone at the door?
Kitten has fallen
Into the wash
Telephone is ringing
Laundry needed
Boss is calling
Could someone get the door?
Husband gone
His golf game calls
Where are priorities?
I need a break
Where’s the Calgon?
Someone take me AWAY!

Lost To You
Roses climb the wall outside your room
Sweet scent floats through the window
Reminding you of me and what you’ve lost
The satin covered sheets upon which you lay
Softness beyond compare
Reminding you of me and what you’ve lost
The wild waves crash against your shore
Untamed, implacable, relentlessly pounding
Reminding you of me and what you’ve lost
A free spirit flows forever young
Untethered
Without restraint
Unencumbered
Free to be
yet
Lost to you

Worth A Shot
What kind of lottery have we won?
When we are here having fun
War-torn countries at the end of a gun
Where the dying has just begun
People dying
Children crying
Widows weeping
Justice sleeping
Contemplate this, it would be a start
With wisdom and effort we may impart
For someone’s existence, a piece of our heart
Making a difference before we depart
People dying
Children crying
Widows weeping
Justice sleeping
