A sad day
laden with pent up emotions
an erupting volcano

A beacon of light
shines on a deep dark path

Torrential rains
submerging the parched rice fields-
unsheltered home.

Desert (Word Cinquain)
Desert
barren, arid
burning, blazing, torturing
futile years of life
Wasteland.

Coin Bank (A Cinquain)
When unfilled there
is no sound; one-half it
jingles and jangles; wholly full
soundless.

Acrostic
After the monotonous mundane of the day, the
Profound silence of the night,
Ravishing and enthralling me,
Irrespective of our fate,

All men are equal
All men are equal
but we care for
the rich, the influential
and the powerful,
a little more.
All men are equal
but we trust
the honest, the just
and the loyal,
a little more.
All men are equal
but we like
the simple, the humble
and the wise,
a little more.

Undefined future
untold story
unheard pain
uprooted feet
unsung glory.
Relived past
retold story
renamed word
past, present and future
all blurred.
Time changes
with a new world’s worth,
century unfolds
with a new mirth.
Woman, thy name
and saga remains the same.
