My Moon
There may be cheese.
There may be rock.
There may be a man in,
But all that isn't what I see.
It may be silver.
It may shimmer.
It may shine,
But it isn't what I feel,
Men have landed.
Men have trodden.
Men have blasted off,
That isn't what I remember.
It doesn't cry,
It doesn't shout.
It doesn't scream,
That isn't what I hear.
I feel its heartbeat,

When I Close my Eyes
When I close my eyes,
I can see my country,
Shining in the light, bright.
When I close my eyes.
When I close my eyes,
I see the trees,
Green against the skyline.
When I close my eyes.
When I close my eyes,
I see stars shining cross,
The wide beyond.
When I close my eyes.
When I close my eyes,
I see the sunset behind your hair,
Halo shining in the air.
When I close my eyes.

My Childhood Hero
Caught a glimpse of my childhood hero
As he strutted along the path today.
He created pictures from words,
Made this world come alive, with
A magic that was never matched.
As he swaggered past me today
He looked old, tired and grey

A spark of dancing magic and

There's Pain on the Faces
There's pain on the faces,
A hunted look of despair,
Once again,
Have you no shame
Do you feel no pain?
The queues have grown
Of the dirty and dispossessed
Once again,
Have you no shame
Do you feel no pain?
The scared and the lonely
Have no where to go,
Once again,
Have you no shame
Do you feel no pain?
Will take you to the soup kitchens,
Make you stand in line,

Drive
Came here by car,
Not sure where here is.
But,
Arrived here, by car.
Traveled, so far,
To be here now.
But still,
Don't know where here is.
Rode in the fast lane, past,
Concrete avenues all lined
With suburban memorabilia
Seen the sunrise cross the asphalt
Trundled down country lanes, cattle tamed
Across war torn highways
Miles stretch out, as
The highway passes by
Feel I've been chasing
Down shadows,
Across endless plains
