A fairytale life
I am no Cinderella
And I have no knight and shining amour
Nor am I sleeping beauty,
Whose prince woke her with a kiss.
I am simply the girl,
Whose foot the glass slipper did not fit.
The Rapunzel whose hair the prince could not reach.
The mermaid who did not get kissed before sunset on that fatal third day.
My story doesn’t end with a ‘happy ever after’
I’m no princess and my life is no fairytale.
But who needs fairytales
When everything I have, is all I will ever need.
