Our nature
Nature dances to no ones rhythm except her own
She sits proud and arrogant on her thrown
She is inconstant, up one day and down the next bout
Like an ocean tide going in and out
Nature is born of the universe
Or is it that she is one with the universe
Nature is inconquerable
Nature is invincible
Nature is beautiful
With an abundance of mysteries, she is bountiful
Nature is original law
When there was no man, she was there before
Nature bore us
Nature is us

You are my saving grace
Your stare is like a tonic for my soul
Bonded by pain, similar as though manufactured from the same mould
Purgatory robbed you of everything and you rose, you are a survivor
Dead and alive at the same time, you are a survivor
Your snarl as you slowly reveal your teeth, the idiocy of this world amuses you
The irony that only two minds see is amusing to me too
We are truly and indeed two of a kind
My mistress, only you calm my mind
I need you and nothing else
In solitude and pain you are my saving grace

Gamalakhe
Mouths smelling of alcohol
Ja, westernization has taken it’s toll
Brothers with dashed dreams on the corner
Sometimes you just can’t take it any longer
You say “The ghetto made me violent, the ghetto made me a tyrant”
I say your biggest demons are the lust for getting a quick fix and being ignorant
Benzene, glue and tick decrease your IQ below average
Your anger and rage is making you act like a savage
Brother, you’re a statistic,
The butt of a joke for the stereotypic
I know poverty is a killer
Brother, I hope the hardship doesn’t kill ya
But I saw you wasted, smelling of booze, wearing designer clothes that looked so old
Thinking, the night has never been so cold

The Dark Continent
'Africa my beginning, Africa my end. I was born here and I will die here'
Africa you bear my hopes and fears
Poverty, famine, crime and AIDS are words which plague Mother Africa's name
These demons bring me shame
While people try to make Africa better, a few let the hardship overpower them
Shame on them
They give up hope and go about their knavish ways
Even though there's hope on the horizon, be that as it may
They continue to destroy what little Mother Africa has
Africa is no longer what she was
'Mother Africa is weeping'
Yet a new dawn may be creeping
Mother Africa and her children are beautiful, they know their place in nature
Even though hardship may corrupt good nature
In the name of ALL that is good, I hope Africa will rise one day
And we'll stop the suffering before she frays
The words upon a famous poet, I hear
'Africa my beginning, Africa my end. I was born here and I will die here'

Mind vs Heart
The heart is foolish, it acts on impulse
The heart beats strong at times like police knocking on the entrance
It wants love and freedom
For without love there would be doom
It is reckless, therefore, it cannot exist alone
It needs a gentle home
The heart is a pagan
The heart is a heathen
The heart will not keep quiet
It demands attention or it will riot
The mind says “I”, it thinks of itself first
It cannot be fooled by lust
It’s skillful and crafty but cold and selfish
It exists only to survive and can be knavish
Without the mind, you would not get by
Without the mind, you will not progress, you will not evolve and you would soon die
The heart stops the mind from being merciless and dark
For everything looks ominous to a mind in the dark
