Mpho Leteng

Eyes That Lie

You put me through the mangle,
interrogated my mind with quizful smiles;
and when you walked away my heart wore a green willow!
i covered my head sadly with a pillow...and cried...
you left me in this vale of tears!
you left me to swim against the tide of my own thoughts
but why did you come in the first place?
i tried to pull you at full tilt
eyes lied...
because you don't really exist!

the remnant of Leteng

When they imprisoned our minds into the grave...
among the dead we found breathing bones,
When they crucified our bright crude crave...
some of us died battling a way out

We rode over humps of pain to this far,
then broke the shells, they only heard the crepitate
now upon our house hopes precipitate

'However, long the night the dawn will break'
we've seen the silver lining,
Oree, the twins and mum have reason to stay smiling
I and Mogo have grown to be great authors
with the past, our past is past

A Dark Path

When raindrops hit the grey floor,
we all mythyfied the truth for a purpose that really go,
but the beginning is a contradictory lie to the end.

in the contest, a girl looked me straight in the eyes,
everytime i go there she doesn't even blink,
speak no evil paper clipped her mouth
so she doesn't even smile!

i made time to giggle at her shadow,
but the shadow stood still,
'till inner voices vociferated within me!
'when embattled with evil you fought it by another evil'
i answered'that's because good wouldn't match'
so how can i not speak evil?

Cry Of A Heart

Fragments of my fractured heart falling apart at the seams;
i crawl towards the fading light,
in my mind logically interweaved thoughts of my parents lost identity
a false believe they held from the craddle to the grave
i uncover stories they never heard
for fortune favors only the brave

i've seen better heads on nickel beers!
she told me what i do is a leap in the dark,
but i can't rear a false identity
within my heart resides pain big around as a molasses barrel
in my mind thoughts and ideas quarrel
but accepting that this is who i am will be a theory for the lost

Faraway

Nested in the far deep,
beyond the the distant tuples of moreish smiles,
beyond the reach of a dayheat intoxicated sleep
faraway but not too long if you walk a few extra miles,
I promise, If you search you shall find.

Beneath the rolling waves of a recycled breath,
on a land formerly unclaimed
faraway from the falling moon and sun's death
through pages of titles unproclaimed
just go...

Beyond poems absorbed by a reflex thought,
between the cracked lines of a failing gravity
where we can only realise that love was never ment to be bought,
Then, true love we shall find!

Within Hailing Distance

i heard your piercing scream;
you stroke the center of my heart with bellows cold as a welldigger's ass,
you freezed my innefable core,
you put me through the mangle
intergrated the intersection of our different state of existence.

breathless in an unreal moment,
i crumpled to the ground,
i crawled towards echoes of your vociferation
through the dead night i ran naked
only to find you there no more!

i know you've long died Marry
and i've put your memories as a seal upon my heart
now that you came back for me
my soul is cleaved to your faded existence
the logical platform of our unending love God knows;

Save Me From Myself

My days are filled with flames of nostalgia;
sin peeled away the walls of my heart,
torn my faith apart...
like burning acid it consumed me!

i look at my life and is empty
hands bathed with the blood of broked dreams!
my heart cries out loud
'save me from myself'

the world around me is unimaginable...
i stretch hands like a roman slave being crucified...
and...and pray for the mythified to be truthied.

i brought upon me waves of self destruction;
i hear my heartbeat like a dreamy piece of music,
hope seeping through secrect holes
'save me from me'
'save me from myself'

The Last Cry Of The Soul Of A Dying Poet

My heart is wrapped with codes of death;
future foreshadowed by doom and gloom,
i fade away like a lengthening shadow
but thou i die, this i've been graced with will die not,
poetry will die not.

i've lived that life blue around the gills;
to the brim my paths were filled with complete emptiness!
i've searched for myself around the cold bills,
but i found non of me...
except this peice of writing,
this poem 'Waking Smiles'

if it was for a matter of choice
I could have choosen another life,
so as to live and die not;
so as to live and recite poems.

By the roadways i saw my death;
before he comes, take my word and find yourselves,

When The Earth Bleeds

When the earth bleeds;
fights abound about like Aboriginals tales,
memories of words that abut prophecies unveil,
multitudes of no fixed abodes occupy psychiantric hospital beds...

living in pain waiting in vain,
life shattered and broken...
a shadow closing down the globe
when the earth bleeds!

we fall prey of destructive social evils
within the core of our hearts we feel 'death will be better'
rather than 'heaven will be better'

the acrid smell of worm worked corpses,
the sun bleeding out vestiges!
death dresses the surface,
blood fills the earth like particles of alluminium metals in aeronautical research labs.

beware of the blackness of the heart,

Hurled Into The Depths

cloaked in the dark waves of a Kachikau winter night;
the last faint gleam of hope glide,
scared out my wits, no one by my side,
who can i trust?
even my own shadow abondons me when i am in darkness!

My presumptous heart deceived me!
hurled me into depths deeper than sheol,
i have become psychologically lifeless
the path behind me is full of broken dreams.

death drenched my thoughts in red,
my soul is bald and filled with ashes of a mind burned to crisp,
the pain of my future has no cure!

a broken soul in pulsing pain,
the forces of selfishness and selflessness whip my conscience;
life beats me like a constant dream...
i have fell prey of my own evil deeds.
