The Holocaust of Dreams
Dreams are lined up against the wall
In an imaginary Holocaust
One by one, they are shot down
As the dreamer is grounded
To an uneventful reality
A place where innocent fantasies get you nowhere
Because others have lost them too early
And so with a sharp tongue
And a cold heart
They line your dreams up
And tear them down.

Prayer For You
On the edge of the unknown
Along a lonely road
Stands a little girl
Her robin's egg eyes
Hold a history of lies
About history itself
Her curly black hair
Tangled beyond repair
Like life itself
Her bare hands and feet
Hold the scars of those she meets
But nothing else
And as she walks away
You hear her soft voice pray
