If I could travel back in time
If only I could travel back in time
When my youth was all at its prime
I'd start all over from the scratch
Just to find my perfect match
I'd be Cleopatra laden with jewels
The queen of Kingdom that ever did dwell
I'd bathe in fragrance, petals and rose
The Queen of Egypt, Anthony would have chose
My serving maids would clad me in silk
And scrub me all over by pouring milk
My life would be on a primrose path
Luxuries would surround me and never would last
I would not have worries to pay my bills
If my prince charming came galloping down the hill
He'd take me by surprise and make me his queen
If only this was a reality and not just a dream :)

Memories (Emirates Airlines)
Today I woke up and jumped out of bed
Looked for my uniform and hat instead
Hoping to be on a flight once again
What was I thinking…it's hard to comprehend?
For a minute, I stood still and looked at the room
Nothing looked familiar…as I had presumed
Then I felt a tear rolling down my cheek
What has life done to make me this weak?
Why did time fly with a blink of an eye?
Memories remain and just goodbyes…

Perdess (A poem written in URDU)
Perdess kai hai tu kai janey…Aagan mera soona hai
Na koi humdam, na koi mukhlis…ye bhi koi jeena hai
Yaad sata-ey hai mujh ko jehan bachpan guzra pyar-oon mai
Uss deis ki mati ki khushboo aaj bhi hai fazaoon mai
Betay dinoon ki yadeen hain..aik khawab sa ab ye lagta hai
Kahan sey doon-oon tujh ko Maa..mera agaan kitna soona hai
Na koi chitty aatey hai aur na koi dastak deta hai
Kiss see ab faryad karoon…dil buhat ye roota hai
Iss des mai mera dana pani kyon kilha tu ne ae rab
Bechar geye meray chanay walay…kahan sey doond kay la-oon ab
Tanha iss safar mai hoon aur kathin hain saab rastay
Kisey kismet hai mery…Reham kar khuda ka wastay.

Beauty and the Beast by Meena Mustafa
We all know the story of Beauty and the Beast
Here I was Beauty to some from the East
Who I thought would be my Prince Charming,
not knowing what would come
As he bowed to kiss me,
I knew he was dumb.
I was told I had to kiss many frogs in life
Before Prince Charming came and finally made it right
All I could see were these frogs croaking all the way
I was blind to their liking and wondered every day

Thank You Lord
"Thank You Lord"
A year has passed with a blink of an eye
I thank you Lord, for I'm still alive.
Pardon me if ever I did wrong
Keep me safe and keep me strong.
I pray for good health and courage to face
That life may bring just incase…..
So show me the light…the road to success
Build up my confidence…that I forget.
Keep my loved ones safe and sound

It's All About You
Let me name this feeling, it's all about you
My lonely world is lit up I can see it through
I just keep thinking and wish upon a star
For a message in a bottle to come from far
Someday I know, our winding paths will meet
Every tearful moment that we have revealed
Now I dream of a rainbow, bright in the sky
Stay with me forever...I've nothing to lie
We'll sail the seas together and stars that shine up high
Ardent breeze of harmony and your touch brushing me by
Whisper, the speech of tireless lips into my ears will flow
Your caresses and kisses will gently make me glow
Love is like a dream so I still stay in wonder
Shall I stay asleep...or awake from its thunder

Vagabond by Meena Mustafa
Ask the one who travels
What he seeks to find?
He roams the naked earth
To find his peace of mind.
Tortured and torn from reality
He packs his bag and leaves…
On a journey to nowhere
Where he can find his peace
He is a Vagabond…
Who roams through the streets at night

Beautiful Brown Eyes by Meena Mustafa
Beautiful brown eyes like myriad of stars that gleam
Telling stories of my life is now an open book it seems.
You can see the world in my eyes, there is beauty everywhere
Exotic places I have travelled is reflected in my stare.
From Dubai to Australia, my memories take me there
Longing to be in Johannesburg (Sun City) a penny I didn't spare.
The white sandy beaches (Maldives) the scorching sun and heat
Diving in the ocean it was such a lovely treat!
Then the drive to Monte Carlo and the lavish French cuisine
From Singapore to Jakarta…now it's just a dream
My eyes reflect my spirit, for adventure far afield
And deep within their depths …mysteries are revealed.

A Cup of Coffee
I start my day with coffee as my friend
The beans so fresh, as it blends
Giving out an aroma, that wakes me up
I stumble to the kitchen and look for the cup
I pour some black liquid and sip right away
I just want coffee, to start my day
Then on the road I'm on my way
Coffee is my friend to make my day
Stuck in traffic, I loose my mind
I then sip my coffee and just rewind
I get to work with a cup in hand
Juggling with papers I can't withstand
The coffee at work tastes bitter and cheap
But it's better than getting caught counting sheep
All day long, I make pot after pot
Of black steaming mugs of liquid gut-rot
Tanked up on coffee, I face the day
Taking anything that comes my way.

By the Sea
In a hammock by the sea
As I lay there under a tree
The waves flow with tender ease
As the wind blows through the trees
Ocean waves a calming sound
So serene and tranquil it is found
An endless ocean it may seem
Where eyes meet the horizon, is like a dream
And along the horizon, clouds do part
As the artist sketches a perfect art
Deep blue water and the tides go by
The ships that sail and sea-gulls fly
The dolphins dance to the morning light
The flying fish just caught my sight
The divers dive to the coral reef
In search of pearls, they must keep
The mermaids dip and dance along
Under the moonlight, as they sing a song
The sight so pleasant to the eye
As they rock me to a lullaby.
