The real gift

It's not something you can wrap up or buy from the store
It's da real love that hits the core
It's priceless but every day the value goes up
Friendship unlike any other
My brother from another mother
Like minded
On the same grind
Spritually inclined
Both following the same line
To everlasting perfection
Though others spit deception
We lookin past the lies
Ignoring the false disguise
So we can keep our eyes on the prize
Straight focused
Eagle eye precision
By definition
We are who we are
But you is my brother
Far as I'm concerned yo last name is mccollugh

Most love

This raw passion that wells up in us all
And end up heeding to it's every call
It destroys hearts
Welcome to the wrecking ball
Has you deceived by the way you think it should be
Everybody hoping for the Cinderella story
That's about as real as pigs flyin
Cuz the kinda love here only leaves u cryin
Affects are unpredictable
Not even the mayans can
Tell you how it's gonna end
Wishin things would go back to they way love should begin
But it does no good
Not even askin the genie from aladdin
They say your falling head over heels is what's happenin
Good? I think not
Cuz you fall from top to bottom not in reverse
If so than gravities your biggest curse

Which is better?

A genius knows when to dumb it down
A smart man knows when to know nothing
And an idiot can be all three
Well what does that mean?

Your only as smart as others allow
So if your too smart to be understood,
To others your intelligence level goes down
So to truly be a genius you must know when dumbing it down is good

To know nothing isn't unintelligence
It's best for different situations
Though very different from a genius,
A smart man recognizes when on his knowledge to put limitations

An idiot is in the best position,
Because it's second nature for them to put it in layman's terms
An idiot has the best potential for genius if it's his intention
And being an idiot is how others feel their intelligence is confirmed

War time story

A single soldier abandoned
Left to fight the war alone
His whole squadron disbanded
As he fights
The media at home paint him in a bad light
The soldier never gives up
He tries with all his might
Betrayed, the chief takes all his weapons
The soldier is left defenseless
But he presses on with just his left and right fists
Him against two armies
Because this soldier fights for his own side
Every day he wakes up another person in his memory who died
He is the only man on the battle line
The soldier takes every hit given
It's a long war
Occasionally he becomes down trodden
And he thinks it's no longer worth doin
He stops
He stops dodgin bullets and and bombs

Spend It

Whether love is time
Or love is money
I'd spend it all on you

If love is time I've got millenniums
Each and every second is for you
If it is, I've got all the time in the world

I've got time to fully demonstrate
My feelings for you in it's entirety
I've got time to prove my real love

If love is time 24 hours is a kiss
A week is seeing you smile
A month is but a hug from you

If love is time a year is one conversation
Seconds apart are like decades
Centuries are as our hearts beating as one

Slow Down

Can I get a minute to myself?
Every other day I'm talking to some one new
'Here's my number', 'text me' what am I supposed to do?
I'm not gonna be rude and reject you
No disrespect but you have no clue
I need time for me
Make a track
Simply relax
Or write some poetry
I look at my watch and the hands are spinning twice as fast
I'm feeling nauseous
Get me off this ride
I shouldn't even be on with a history of epilepsy
Everything is moving hyper sonic speed
I'm about to graduate high school next thing you know I'll be married
I'll blink and rub my hand over my balding head
Then my next breath would be one of last laying on my death bed
In utter shock because yesterday I was a kid
Or was i?
Did my whole life pass me by?

A Sunday to Remember

This particular day was like every other,
A suit and tie, ready for my spiritual meal
But little did I know, what lay in store from this brother
I take my seat and listen to the talk-the normal deal

As it progresses this information is at its worst amazing
I'm understanding, looking up scriptures and enjoying it
The brother on the stage is enthusiastic and pleasing
The fact that all cannot hear it is my only regret

But then the brother begins to relate an experience
I begin to detect a change in his voice as he continues
The brother gets choked up by the sentiments,
And at the end of the discourse he grabs some tissues

Do you understand what that did to me?
I didn't cry when my grand mother died
But my eyes began to get teary
I felt the hard outer layer of my heart melt away inside

Cina

My current situation disgusts me
I live in a time of great upheaval
Problems- specifically politically
It has it's own kind of evil

Riots in the streets of Chicago
I don't pay that much attention
But I do know it had to do with the meeting for NATO
Cops literally shutting down people expressing their opinion

That is absolutely terrible
Excuse me for thinking a person had his rights
So please define for me inalienable
People today are in a serious plight

Music now a days is absolutely debase
Call it to court for what it's done to this generation
But the judge drops the case
Because the defendants goons threaten to destroy his whole situation
