Across the Green Fields
Across the green fields
Up on the bluffs
High into the sky
A place I didn’t realize existed
Montana
Yes green
Once in a drought
It now is green from pounding rain.
God’s country again
It looks like a different place
No brown desert prairies
No desolate fields
It’s green now
A beautiful velvety green.

Chocolate & Spring!
As a new year rounds the corner
And Spring is on the way
There are two things that for me
Create the perfect day
It is chocolate and Spring, my friend
Oh, how they go together
Delicious creamy candy
And warm inviting weather
Both as sweet as they can be
I would ask for nothing more
Chocolate and Spring
Puts me right at heaven’s door!

Sam and the Butterfly
One day I saw a sweet butterfly
Just as pretty as can be
My coal black tomcat, Sam
Was walking next to me
A beautiful summer day
I smiled and hummed a song
Enjoying this flitting butterfly
As Sam and I walked along
And suddenly, you’ll not believe
Without a single sound
Sam swiped his paw into the air
Knocking this butterfly to the ground!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
To all my little buddies
From across the Internet
I hope you have a Valentine’s
Day you can’t forget
I hope someone sends you
The sweetest little ‘ole card
I hope you get some flowers
You can plant out in the yard
I hope you get some candy
Sweet chocolate just for you
And happiness you will find
From morning right on through!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Crunchy Leaves Beneath my Feet
Crunchy leaves beneath my feet
Tumbling to the path
Storms blow through as autumn comes
A taste of nature’s wrath
Brilliant red, orange and yellow
Leafs that the wild wind blows
It’s nature’s way of showing us
Summer’s coming to a close
As summer turns to autumn
The crispy days revisit
A chill now in the nighttime hours
But the colors are so exquisite!

Cowgirl
I wanted to be a cowgirl so badly
When I was just a little girl
With a cowgirl suit of red with fringe
I wanted to give that life a whirl
A horse I would ride so well
Side-saddle of course I’d sit
Handsome my black horse was
He would be such a hit
Perhaps a blaze on his forehead
Would set his looks apart
But for now a stick or broom would do
For me it was at least a start!

Glorious Spring Blossoms
I drove to town this sunny morning
And right before my eyes
I saw that spring was here
It was a glorious surprise
The trees were huge plumes of pink
Like fluffy cotton candy to me
Others were white like puffy clouds
They were spectacular to see
I love the spring when dull trees turn
Whether by God or Mother Nature
It shows tomorrow has such promise
With spring blossoms sweet and pure!

What Nature Brings
Autumn leaves that turn to gold
Flowers that are bright and bold
Tremble in the cooling wind
Messages the autumn sends
Soon the winter storm so strong
We hope that it would not stay long
Now it’s almost time to change
And the landscape soon will rearrange
Spring will come before we know
This will bring a winter thaw
And then spring, oh glorious spring
Isn't it exciting what nature brings?

Country Red Dirt Road
Down that red dirt road
Off to the side I see
Cattle gracing in herds
Staring sweetly at me
Yes, the red dirt takes us
Past old farmyard barns
Farmers standing ‘round
Spinning red dirt yarns
Daisies waving by the side
Of the red dirt road so fresh
Brilliant colors perfectly
Blend in with all the rest
More cows by the fence
Watch as I go by
Driving a red dirt road
Sure does make time fly!

Travel Mode
I went to Wal Mart this morning
My very favorite store
I looked around the parking lot
Before I went through the door
There were semi’s parked there
And many travel trailers as well
Motor homes pulled in for the night
By the time the darkness fell
My heart started beating fast
But it’ll be next year before I can load
My 33’ trailer for another vacation
And get back into the travel mode!
