Evocação
Em dias de sol quente,
ardente,
muitos abraçam-no, de repente.
Alguns deleitam-se
num doce olhar.
Outros permanecem com ele,
bem longe, a orar!
Com seu ar majestoso,
por vezes ocioso,
reporta aventuras,
bravuras, feitos de outrora,
que a história regista
a perder de vista
e nele se demora!
Ao sentir-se agitado,
rodopia
cansado de não ser respeitado.
Faz apelos, deixa avisos

It Is Winter Outside...
It is winter outside...
A cold atmosphere that most fear
For the scarce food, no warm clothes,
Even no home, no job, no health protection.
Towards these what is the rulers' reaction?
It is winter outside...
There is much oppression indeed
For these people's human rights
Truly are in a huge need,
And they all deserve to be freed.
It is winter outside...
Others join in to cooperate
To minimize the pain, so desperate!
He is attentive, gracious, merciful
He protects them being silent, bountiful.

New Orleans
No food, no electricity, no home, no prompt help!
Everywhere the catastrophic signs left by Hurricane Katrina
With the unacceptable authorities'delay...
Towards relief efforts in the social arena!
Once, on the Mississippi river, this famous city -
The Big Easy -
Remembered for its traditional Mardi Gras and brassbands
Lavish with its intense street and night life
Ebullient across the French Quarter
And the legendary Bourbon Street
Now it is empty and still flooded
Sounding ghostly and hugely damaged! !

Time For Peace
Oh, Manhattan!
How exciting and magical you were yesterday!
With your tall, magnificent buildings,
Far from this catastrophic view -
Great pain, destruction, and all dark smoke
In today's morning so grey!
Innocent people lie around You now.
Their cries keep being heard, though.
They have left an urgent message
For all of us to be humble and wise
And to let solidarity fully grow.
Thousands of hearts riven by grief
Spending their days in distress
Just longing for a time
Bringing all the world nothing better than Peace!

What Voice? ...
On this World Voice Day
It's a duty of us all
A pause for reflecting
Thanking the Creator
And all those who gave
And those who keep giving
Their voice for Love
For their wishes for Peace
And for the deepest Lament!
It's the voice of the Humanist
It's the voice of the Actor
It's the voice of the Poet
It's the voice of every Artist
It's the voice of the Scientist
The voice of the voiceless
And the voice of those able to voice it
Yet... they're deprived of doing so
And it doesn't reach us
As it would be fair, though!

A Chant To Life
This intends to be a chant to Life
To every moment of joy, even strife
To every thread of inspiration
All privileges and incantation
To wise thoughts and deep insights
Imparted to others - days and nights
To everyone's quest for happiness
And acceptance of sadness
To daily throbs of hearts passionate
Embracing love - pure, ultimate
To every human achievement
Towards the world's development
To nations' struggles for their progress
Aimed at their children's peace, happiness
A chant to the Most Saviour
To Him we highly praise thanking for every favour!

Caravan of Hope
They all walked across the soil of stone
Which was covered with a reddish dust -
Heading for the walls of the holy Smara,
Feeding themselves on hope and trust.
The wind of desert blew continuously
Very hot during the day
Rather cold at the dark night
Before they began to pray.
At the top of the hill
Near the tomb of the saint
There was a silence... of suffering
As if the world had stopped moving.
They all wanted to get to the North
Where water, fertile lands, hope, liberation
Were all waiting for them
To build their life in a peaceful nation.

If You Can...
If you can see the sun shining,
And listen to birds cheerfully chirping,
Seize that harmony in Nature
For it can bring peace to every creature...
If you can face work in bliss
And cause the children's smile,
Enjoy it as a blessed while
For it can bring you peace.
If you can take a sweet word
To those hearts in grievance,
That's peace you are breathing
Helping them with a better living.
If you can avoid troops on the ground,
Deployed for months, years, harshly,
You can feel your country healthy
And people in peace producing more around...

Egypt Unrest
Crowds gather around Tahrir Square
Fighting for a change... fair.
From here we sense people's anxiety
Longing for a better future
By creating a government national unity.
People from all walks of life
Have come together in unison
Not for the sake of strife
Rather for the attempt to stop what's mean.
May today's uncertainty
Give way to desired unity
So as Egypt soon can see
Security, freedom, and prosperity.
We support these people's aspirations
Praying God to provide them with order
So they can rule in peace
And cooperate with all nations.

Different Scenes, Different Games
'Amazing scenes! ', ladies reported.
Parents and their kids have confirmed
While telling London reporters
Proudly sharing their adventures.
Those kids' eyes shone with joy
Some were talkative others were coy
Soaking up the atmosphere
They cheerfully highlighted:
'The Queen was here! '
They're happy for having been taught
The true spirit of the Games-
Hard work, common efforts, fraternity
Hopefully cherished until eternity.
Oh, we wished all kids in the world
Would stay joyful and peaceful
Rather than ignored or killed
In abhorrent scenes and war games disgraceful!
