For Mozambique
We've stared at their faces - desolate, devastated-
By flowing tears flooded.
Every image portrayed
Their lively dreams suddenly disappeared.
Huge catastrophe
Had abruptly fallen down!
Revolted? Not at all.
Filled with faith and courage
Crossing the skyline, and...
Grounds that had been damaged,
Brave teams struggled
To help those people in need.
Now they are rebuilding at every cost
A vast fertile land that had been lost!

To The Libyan People
At a crucial time
Of your people's history
Do not lose your bravery!
Keep struggling firmly
To build a better future
Aimed at your children.
They deserve your plight
So, on behalf of them,
Gather full courage,
Accept cooperation
Though amidst temporary
Violent operation! !
Your appeal is being heard
So you can be saved
From such a tyranny,
Huge oppression, aggression,
Which have postponed
Your peace and happiness! !

Divine Impulse
These unpredictable Autumn days
Challenge us in different ways...
A divine impulse comes to write
As if becalming an anxious heart
Sending its throbs to the mind
Thus appeasing it- so kind!
Stories unfold fresh and old
Experienced by people bold
Showing discontent, indignation
At those who damage their nation.
A mismanaged world scene
Presenting measures so mean
Affecting populations severely
Requires a change for the better- urgently!

Sweet, Little Persian
She's neither thin nor fat
This sweet, little cat!
Her brown eyes follow me
So friendly!
She's apparently shy
Enjoying lifting her tail
Whenever she passes by.
Her soft coat keeps her warm
And it doesn't look uniform
For sometimes it tends to change
From its pearl colour
Into a darker one slightly strange...
She's a pretty loyal friend
Eager to share her quiet days
Just counting on our care
To enjoy long, happy family stays!

For our Soul to nurture
They are friendly, entertaining, mysterious,
Addressing different themes, issues,
Telling us diverse life stories
Much more exciting than news.
We travel through their pages
Across countries of different ages,
Whose traditions, history, and culture
Are therein for our soul to nurture.
We look at them with respect,
Filling our heart with delight
Enjoying how the characters interact
Within the plot the author thinks is right.

Rebuilding Your Life
We are joining you
For rebuilding your life
Because we do realise
How hard and severe it is
Your ongoing plight.
Hundreds of thousands of your people
Have lost their natural way.
So, we all are sending our help and prayers
From very far away.
For you, the survivors in huge suffering,
We appeal for your bravery and courage
In your everyday struggle,
To provide help one another
And rebuild your life
From the devastating wreckage!

Autumn Images
It comes and unfolds
Sometimes quietly
Over soft rain falling
Blessing the dry fields
Left by the hot summer
Burning lands near and farther.
It brings mornings
Of a sky grey or blue
Painted by artists
In rolling thick clouds
Or bright mild sunshine
Warming our heart anew.
It invites to reflection
Along with hard work, action
It embellishes the orchards
With ripe golden pieces of fruit
Sweetly perfuming the air-
We're silent before a sky fair!

Qual Voz? ...
Neste Dia Mundial da Voz
É dever de todos nós
Uma pausa de reflexão
E agradecimento ao Criador
E a todos aqueles que deram
E aos que continuam a dar
A voz pelo Amor
Pelos anseios de Paz
E pelo mais profundo Lamento!
É a voz do Humanista
É a voz do Actor
É a voz do Poeta
É a voz de todo o Artista
É a voz do Cientista
A voz dos que não têm voz
E a voz dos que têm voz
Mas... lhes é vedada
E não chega, como seria justo, até nós!

Interrogo-me...
Dizem que os meus versos
veiculam serenidade, paz, harmonia.
Mas interrogo-me: há nesse pensar
alguma fantasia? Um pouco de ousadia?
Como é possível equilibrarmos
o permanente ruído interior
onde perpassam alegrias e dor?
Será a companhia divina? Será por amor?
Acreditamos que, daqueles ruídos
ao silêncio posterior,
continuamos a percorrer o caminho,
iluminado aqui e além,
com algumas sombras, porém,
e sempre a protecção do Senhor!

So Is It...
It is to have and not to have
It is joy and sorrow
In everyday since dawn
It is to work, to act, to remember
It is to know how to forgive, it is to love.
It is time clockwise moving
In every moment an awakening
It is life we respect
It is this complex walking
It is work coming next.
It is the divine light shining bright
It is the soul strength cheering
It is to accept, and wish to understand
It is to build, to act, to look ahead
So is it... to live!
