But that’s not all that is in my being
Mocked, you find humor in my faults
Only because you are insecure
Tried, placed before a court of skeptics
I fight my case but all in vain
Judged, you have perceived the way I am
Time to reveal what I have become
Arrested, placed in isolation
I can not escape my monochrome prison
Sentenced, I am given my fate
Your system unfair, I stop fighting it
Punished, I will get what I “deserve”
My sins have caught up with me, and I will pay
Killed, I sink into darkness
And look back to what could have been

A demon filled with grace
A saint becomes consumed by greed
A child without a place
A mind without a thought
An action without reason
A forest filled with naught but death
A year without a season

The guilty lose their flaws
The just begin to break the rules
And felons follow laws
A rhyme without a poem
A lyric without song
A small issue affects the world
What’s right becomes what’s wrong
