Three Words
Three words
That were easy to say
I and Love and You
Three words I longed
To hear from you
Three words
That became
Hard to say
Three words
I hope to say
Again someday

All That Matters
I must let my poems ride their luck
On the back of the ardent breath
Of a lovely, fervent woman
Must let them soar across the sky
On the winds of true abandon
Seekin' beauty where it may lie
That my friend, is all that matters
That is all that I can hope for

Cling To Another
To cling to another, the one
To keep each other warm
To pour yourself into someone, the one
There can be no greater need, nor want
There can be no greater fulfillment
This is what I need
Short of that, I have these words
These words I pour onto the page for you

I Remember
I remember, longingly, when
Your lips, which I adored, would touch
Mine, and your lovely fingers clutched
My heart, and I in turn clutched yours;
And our bodies moved together
Urgently, langourously
If only I could have stopped time
If only I could turn back time

When
When you were near to me
When I felt your excitement
When you made me feel dizzy
When I was with you
When time slipped away
As in a dream
When love found me
When I was not searchin'
When I had no need for tears
When you were with me
When the mornin' rays
Shone in your hair

This To Cling To
This to cling to:
We are together
Now, years later
In a dream-heavy place
We are in Paris
We are happy
We are in love
You are divine
This springs from somethin' deeper
Beyond a dream-heavy hour
Beyond desire
Beyond my control
This dream
This thought
This memory
This to cling to

Bar Ditches And Far Flung Wishes
All I can do is try to keep myself
somewhere between the bar ditches
and my far flung wishes.
Somewhere between all alone and you.
Somewhere between the bottle and sober.
Right now is definitely bar ditch time.
So play some Hank and pass the Jack
and hope for the days of far flung wishes.

Crowns
Yes, this is the land where
Dusk delays long hours late
And the never still air
Stirs our hair as we wait.
We have been here since noon
Suspended in flowers
In this moment attune
Adrift in love that's ours.
And we find in the night,
In the darkness of streams,
We find the stars are white
Crowns that cover our dreams.

Loner's Mornin
I write this...
Because the voice inside me
Will not be still
I loved a woman
I gave a lot to her
I thought I learned what love was
I laughed in the lover's twilight
Now I sigh in the loner's mornin'
I hummed the lover's tune
Now I sing the loner's blues
She got under my desire
She peeled away the layers
Now she is gone
But the desire remains

Full Woman
Full woman, supple flesh, hot moon
Thick smell of pine trees down by the river
What obscure brilliance opens between two lovers
What ancient need does a woman touch with her senses
Lovin' this full woman is a journey not taken lightly
A journey frought with charged passion and sudden storms
With clashes of dreams and desires and lightnin' strikes
That can leave you defeated with a single touch of her lips
