Something Keeps Me in High Hopes
Something keeps me in high hopes
Carefree, happy, free from thought
And nothing do I want more
Relaxation: all I've sought
Still, yet still, I'm bound to earth (and can't untie the knot)

Lasting Losses
Life
Lets nothing last.
Leaving souls to live
Like chalk drawings
Left out in the storm.
Lonely drops on
Lovely works;
Leaving only murky
Lakes of faded color where
Livelihood once took place.
Life vanishes where those
Lucid puddles lay...
...Leaving no pictures perfect
down Memory Lane.

Typical
'You're terrible...'
Said with a smile,
Glimmering teeth
Peeking through,
With a gentle nudge
Of your hand into my side.
As you're by my side.
'...But you're wonderful, '
Said with a sigh,
White smile hidden
Behind chapped lips,
And the same gentle nudge
In my heart,
As you leave my side.

Recollection Of November
The cool November pavement
And the soft glow of your smile
Amidst the gentle night
The others are doing the same
Wrapped in each others arms
In the moonlight
But the warmth
Of their semi-numbed fingers
Simply cannot compare—
They merely disappear
As you melt into me
And say those three words
Sealed with a kiss
As if to whisper
'This is only the beginning'

Mug of Tea
Lights
Everdimmed
Glowing
Off the rim
Of the mug
Still warm
Inner hearth
Again forms
With each sip
Serenity
Melts into
Sweet memories:
Childhood friends
Behind closed eyes
Smile is forming
Pleasant surprise
Dripping thick
Like caramel dreams
Twilight's coming
So it seems

Me, Myself, And I
i don't capitalize my name.
that would imply i matter.
and why should i think i matter
when deep down we're all the same?
and i also find it true
that when we are all scattered,
it doesn't even matter
what it is we dreamed we'd do.
for in these dreams i take the blame—
well, in the dreams that matter—
and though my soul's still battered
i find no fault with your claim.
i am not important, true,
and disregarding what you've tattered,
i see now not one thing matters—
at least according to You.

What'll It Be?
The human soul
Is but the drink
Of the broken man
At the bar, sinking
in his golden therapy.
The half empty
Flask goes flat
As he grumbles
About his lack
of love and luck.
But he drinks it off
Through his spirits,
And though he
May not appear it
he's like all of us.
For when the barman asked,
'What'll it be? '

With What the Stress Has Taught
Though I have not a reason for my stress
The world begins to test me once again...
I love my life but now I must confess
That I would not mind if it were to end.
The mental tension has my life confined
And there is no nepenthe for my strain,
But still the life I love does ask my mind
To burn and blacken out in daily pain.
Why must the burden be too large to bear?
Why does it snap the spirit like a twig?
Why does the mind commit to such affairs
That give us but another grave to dig?
Though stress ignites the hell within my thoughts,
My life improves with what the stress has taught.

Some Silent Way to Cope
Does humanity have hope
To find some silent way to cope
With the white noise in the head
Moaning softly through the dregs
Charred and burnt off ends of dreams
Fertilize the fallacy
Echoing through greyscale rot
Sadism amidst deep thought
Throwing its shadows to the skull
'Til medicated slumber lulls
Stinging psychopathic pain
The only path to flee the rain
That winds its way through all deplored
As mental strain comes back for more
Breaking the bells' sweet euphony
Stripping bliss of its company
While the only place to be alone's
Perdition in an eight inch dome
Oh joyous is the day we find

After The Storm Clears
The bodies bleeding, screaming in pain
As the Agent falls from the sky
Onto the amber waves of grain
And the support rolls in, camouflaged
Only to turn the world black and blue
And bludgeon all that disagree
To put death's dark marks in view
Yet after the storm clears
And the world returns to spring
There is but another rainbow
Amidst the clear sky
And another... And another... And another...
Its colors hoisted like valiant flags
Into the heavens
Just to grab our attention
