Learning Curve

Running, running
myself ragged.
Sinking deeper
and steeper
into the dark.
No light shines
upon my face,
now sunken
and skeleton
while I yearn
for God’s grace.
Leaving behind
all that I’ve known
for a chance to
live a new life
apart from my own.
Gone to the ends
of this lonesome earth
flying and trying,
but always crying
