My Horse And Me
I LOVE MY HORSE AND I'LL TELL YOU WHY
HE'S THE BEST HORSE AROUND AND THAT IS NO LIE
HE'S TOUGH AND SMART AND ALWAYS DOES THE RIGHT THING
WHATEVER I ASK AND RIDES LIKE A DREAM
HE'S NOT THE BIGGEST HORSE IN THE BARN
HE'S KIND OF LAID BACK, LIKE HE DOESN'T GIVE A DARN
HE'S PRETTY, NO DOUBT, BUT THAT ISN'T WHAT SHOWS
IT'S HIS HEART THAT'S SO BIG, THAT IT OVERFLOWS
I KNOW WHAT HE'S THINKING THOUGH HE CAN'T SAY THE WORDS
HE'S LISTENED TO ME WHEN I NEEDED TO BE HEARD
HE'S AS LOYAL A FRIEND AS I'VE EVER HAD
ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE ME AND NEVER MAKES ME FEEL BAD
HE TRUSTS ME WITH HIS LIFE, AND I TRUST HIM WITH MINE
IT'S A BOND THAT'S NEVER BROKEN, AND GET'S STRONGER WITH TIME
WHEN WE'RE ON THE TRAIL, THERE'S NO BETTER PLACE TO BE
THAN ENJOYING THE WOODS, JUST MY HORSE AND ME

I prayed to God to send me a friend
Who had things in common with me
Someone who looks beyond here and now
Who lives life joyfully
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Because I was lonlely for someone who
Tries to walk in God's light, as is good and right
A friend who is honest and true
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Who nurtures me back in return
And talks of things that matters in life
Who's open to what life has to learn
I prayed to God to send me a friend
Who shows concern for me when I hurt
Someone who listens, when I have something to say
And who cares for me, even at my worst

Deer Hunting Time Is Here Again
Deer hunting time is here again
And many hunters take to the woods
After months of planning with family and friends
They gather in common brotherhood
It's a freedom that fills the soul of a man
With the peace of God's nature all around
Lessons that have been taught since time began
And lifelong memories and friendships are found
Hunting is taught by tradition still yet
Knowledge passed on from man to man
And you'll learn things that you'll never forget
And respect nature more, our wildlife, and our land
So all you hunters enjoy this time
May you be skilled and have lots of luck
May God bless you as you hunt today
And may you bag that ten point buck! !

Words to Mom When I Was a Teen
I wish I could let you know, Mom
How much you mean to me
But words can't even begin to
Make you really see
How much I really love you, Mom
How much I hold you dear
And I won't even think about
Life without you here
Ours is a hard relationship
But no matter how odd
There's respect, caring, and loyalty
And love, given to us by God
And as I'm writing this poem, Mom
The tears stream down my face
And I think about our past, Mom
And words I can't erase
