He Never Strays Far
London to Paris
Paris to Rome:
He never strays
far from his dear
country home,
where a kind
soul is waiting;
truth shines in
her eye, and the
green dales are
calling 'neath a
pink evening sky.
He never strays
far if springtime
is nigh ~ and
early tomorrow
back home he
must fly, to a
happier life in the
sweet by-and-by.

January 2010 Haiti
How sad for Port-au-Prince
~~ The Capital of Haiti ~~
A repeat of the destruction
Which took place back in
The eighteenth century
When two similar quakes
Took their toll on Haiti.
We've seen frightening scenes
On today's television screens
And the whole world will say
An impassioned prayer to help
Haiti overcome the despair.

Loud comes a voice from the heavens
Over the hills, and over the lea.
Raven and Blackbird fly to the sky
Denoting God's majesty.

Endless rapture is ours, land and sea.
Secure with Jesus, protected from danger.

Second Time Around
Fictional:
I remember September
in the autumnal rain,
when we gave up the pleasure
and ignored love's refrain.
A Last Waltz was the answer
to unite us again...
of course, you were the dancer
to set hearts aflame.
Now we'll stay together
no hand waves from the train.
We will treasure the pleasure
without heartache or pain.

Only A Snippet From History
A young Brooklyn man
'Billy The Kid'
Was sentenced to death
~~ For murder ~~
He escaped the punishment
By murdering again, but
This was in vain.
He was still on the run.
One County Sheriff
'Saw red' it is said!
And using a gun
Shot Billy dead.
The history of Billy
Is detailed with care.

For More Than A Lifetime
Clear pictures I see of the You I once knew
Words in my head still say 'I love you'
So this faithful heart is yours to behold
Each anniversary, be it silver or gold.
After one lifetime of ecstasy,
Close by your side I'm still longing to be.
Archives will show a love quite divine.
Here on this earth ~
And on Heaven's Cloud Nine.

Beautiful Mother
Mother's hair was golden in olden days
She was known as 'The beautiful One'
And although her hair has turned to silver
She still shines like
A 'jewel' in the sun...
And it's not only because of her silver hair
That she is adored beyond compare.
Her ways are sweet, gentle and kind,
She's the 'beautiful One'

November Memories
Sad autumn moments in
two thousand and three,
as victims were shopping
in Istanbul by the sea...
terrorism struck and bombs
brought despair; people
were deranged as debris
filled the air ~ little children
cried, many parents died.
All Turkey was silenced at
the truck-bomb violence.
Six years have been and
gone...but history lives on.

Friendliness Calm and Tact
Be open-minded in this day and age
Leave prejudice far behind you.
Efficiency depends on good understanding
New ideas ~ a change for the better.
So never rush in, however demanding!
Consider the facts of the matter.
Now the Bill will become an Act...
Another step forward, another great pact.
