Middle Age
Rictameter:
Syllable count
two-four-six-eight-ten
and reverse.
'Crisis'
sad occasion
love loosing its allure
two souls led into temptation
romance neglected as never before.
wedding rings are of no avail
what an uhappy tale
in the midlife

Golden Crown
Forty words:
Umbrella weather damp and cold
Mr. Sun has gone on hold.
Drip-drip-drip from every tree,
Roaring thunder constantly.
July is usually fair of face
Umbrella weather has no place.
Floral perfume drifts around
~~Mr. Sun wears the crown~~

Poetic Style and Form
Forty words:
Monday is Haiku day
Tuesday is Nonet
Wednesday I write Rictameter
Thursday Triolet
Friday is my Tanka day
But Saturday's the best
Because I write a Sonnet
A literary quest...
Then I face Sunday's challenge:
'Forty Words' the final test.

Romance in June
Forty words:
Today is such a romantic day
the warmth is simply inspiring,
heaven shines in brilliant array
joy of two hearts' desiring.
Oh the glory of beautiful June
unrivalled in magical splendour
honeymoon for bride and groom
deeply in love forever.

Book of Moral Values
Forty words:
The Holy Bible gives us hope
with elightenment and inspiration
referring to Satan and the Devil
and guiding us in a positive direction.
The New Testament is saviour of souls
delivering humanity from strife,
with the Promise of Eternal Life.

Summertime Dreamers
Rictameter poem.
syllables 2-4-6-8-10
and return.
Romance
seems enthralling
for summertime dreamers
high into Space they are drifting
waving 'farewell' to a past loveless life
desire made them husband & wife
no longer just dreaming
but it's love and
Romance

Yesterday Again
Grey skies are azure blue
You healed my broken heart.
We were meant for each other
Helpless from the start.
So say it with flowers
Heaven's sweet array.
No dying ember now
Love has found a way.
And dull skies are ever blue
Because I walk with you.
August 2008.

The Year Of The Tiger
China has just said goodbye
to the year of the Ox - 2009.
China has always been kind
to the animals waiting in line.
A different one every year!
2010 is the turn of the Tiger
when the Pied Piper will play
a tune to honour each Tiger
beneath the moon, in China.

This Day and Age
Forty Words:
Marriage is a God-given contract
but breaking vows becomes easy
with legal decrees of this century.
Adultery and remarriage
always give food for reflection
bride and groom changing direction.
Why is this happening so often
'That is the question'.

Help For The Poor
Forty Word Poem:
Poverty-trapped and poverty-stricken
To consider children in need is our mission.
Vintage harvest, but too small a yield;
Equality for everyone would be the ideal.
Bread must be shared now and evermore
Poverty's a subject worth fighting for.
