Forgotten But Not Gone

Weather wise a sunny bright warm day,
In fields farm hands working fresh hay.
Totally all blue was the cloudless skies,
But cloudy and raining were my eyes.
Greyhound bus leaving for Tallahassee,
On board the one truly wonderful lassie.
Back to my car teary eyed I wandered,
As to my immediate future I pondered.
In the prime of my life, brought fears,
Drafted; going overseas for two years.
In the cold hearted war, called to fight.
Would I be wounded; my life take flight.
Would I be blessed, able to return home,
Would it be I’d be forgotten while gone.
Never once thinking of losing a friend,
That our relationship would soon end.
Although hers for me would be past,
My true love to her will eternally last.
It’s said time is the healer of all pain,
My hope is we will be together again.

Part 2-Inerasable Heart

Freedom fighting while feeling so alone,
While she was safe with family at home.
Only a poncho to shelter from cold rain.
Nothing here to ease the homesick pain.
In open air we rest through starlit night.
Any moment alert and ready for a fight.
Seeing fright with each incoming round,
A flash, a percussion, a deafening sound.
Continual prayer for safe comfort said,
While many uniformed boys laid dead.
Wishing for quieting of the war’s sound.
Government issued armed men around.
Without a doubt, of one thing I was sure,
By trusting GOD, the battle I did endure.
Who at home cared for wrong or right?
Will government ever see the true light?
Was there anyone my heartache to share?
Unanswered, doth love remain anywhere?
No time for me to think if she still cares.
The same love we shared is it still there?

Just Child's Play

Towards the end of a bright sunny day;
Children enjoying life; occur what may;
Clouds began to form and drift our way;
As we rested on grassy bank from play;
Spotting shapes the clouds would form;
Naming them; hoping for no dire storm;
First coming slowly and then very fast;
One comes on scene; then a whole cast;
There's a bear; a horse; and a big mouse;
Then came orders from Granny's house;
You children be very mindful of the rain;
If it starts come in; when over out again;
Uncle added, alright now you young folks;
Don't you all be telling those filthy jokes;
We could not understand what he meant;
So back to enjoying what the winds sent;
Pleased just to be children without a care;
None of the worlds difficult loads to bare;
Owning every spectacular feature of a day;
That is what we all used to call child's play!

As The Wind Whispers To Me

Resting myself beside lake’s shoreline,
I hear wind’s whisper among the pine.
Often they seem to be laughing at me.
Blindly ambling, visions unable to see,
I seem to have lost my way back to you.
May be the wind will tell me what to do.
My spirit cries of loneliness deep within,
Ever searching the horizon for spirit kin.
Searching to find the peace in her love,
Asking for help from the Creator above.
Crying to Mother Earth, please be abiding,
Reveal to me the location of this maiden.
Whose spirit I see dancing in dawn’s light,
The one I danced with through the night,
By light of the moon to final kiss at dawn.
Did she think of me as just another pawn?
Her memory lingers within my inner being.
Her presence in my life I need to be seeing.
Under her spell until my last breath taken,
I guard the fragile seal of mind’s breaking.

That’s What I Get For Loving You

Taking a look back at where I’d been,
A lot of associates, still no true friend,
Through life’s search I had many a toy,
But there was nothing giving real joy.
Found a lady, thinking oh happy day,
But desires of the world stole her away,
Worldly sins gave all one could desire,
Till my life’s circle became a ring of fire.
Caught in a whirlwind of continual swirl,
That’s what I got for loving this world.
As I found what GOD had freely gifted,
My cross’s load was miraculously lifted,
Lasting peace like none I had ever found,
Love beyond understanding did abound,
Complete turn around, a new path I trod,
Living in the faith of the Sovereign GOD.
From infirmity to health; mayhem to peace
From discord to delight; torture to release
Jesus, you paid all my sin debt that was due,
Now I sing, That’s what I get for loving you.

Birthday Remembrances

So true it is that time stands still for none;
Run it swiftly or life's race won't be won;
Idleness leads to dreams of days gone by;
The hands of time rapidly continue to fly;
Days seem to pass as fast as dawn arises;
Night falls just as quickly as the sun rises;
Dusk disappears as midnight doth aspire;
Judgment gives way to dreams of desire;
Calendar all: give everything its own date;
Putting priorities first, all things straight;
Remembrance of the day you were born;
Whence you came; where you were torn;
From GOD's Heavenly Angelic throne;
Cast from dust; sheathed in earthen home;
An ivory palace; abundance of agape love;
Silver cord binding; to a sanctuary above;
Many an angel stands guard at our gate;
As sure as birth, death comes on to wait;
Yet not death, but eternal life; the present;
For trusting the Word; into His presence!

Mirrored Image So Unlike Me

Adrift on mirror water without command,
My life out of control, I try to understand.
Within this summer day’s afternoon heat,
Is that my heart like thunder I hear beat?
As winds whisper across this lake’s face,
I see an image of some man in this place.
Given to instability of body and the mind,
In lone canoe I rise to see what I may find.
Who is it standing on the water I now see?
In tearful silence a reflection so unhappy.
Lost in tortuous void nothing touches he.
It is my reflected image yet so unlike me.
Chained with fetters of regret is my soul,
For not holding to you in the days of old.
Endless drops of tears on my face I feel,
In shock I wipe the moisture as I kneel.
So of this special hope I will eternally hold,
Still desiring the touch of my maiden bold.
Locked from your world due to my vanity,
In my seclusion I search for some sanity.

Encountering A Black Memory

Encountering one dark black memory,
As the Wind eternally whispers to me.
In another time, at this special place,
We were dressed in leather and lace.
Many times I have made my way back,
Searching for a memory turned black.
In search of our encounter by chance,
Where by firelight we once did dance.
By moon’s light with fire burning dim,
In the refreshing water we would swim.
A time I wished would be without end,
Chilled we held each other skin-to-skin.
From the chilling water to the fireside.
Blanket wrapped one another we eyed.
Without uttering speech our eyes spoke,
As we kindled love’s fire without smoke.
Until morning our spirits became as one,
When back to your mate you had to run.
Time did pass and the years they did go,
The view seen here now I hardly know.

An Ivory Palace

Watchmen all along the paths doth irritate.
With walls so high and locks on the gates,
An Ivory Palace you have helped me build.
Besieged was my love life totally unwilled.
I was so open and gave all my love to one;
Heartily taken; away with all they did run;
Only a vacant grotto; Without a faint trace;
In past a heart full of love was in that place;
From tower veranda I edgily gazed to see;
What could be bringing such amazing glee;
Beautiful notes rang out all around the wall;
Daughters of music piped in beckoned call;
Eager to join them in course, When I found;
My heart; My soul; no longer made a sound;
Their music was enigmatically love sated;
Tears of joy surged as my soul was elated;
Agape filled to capacity; New smile on face;
Empty grotto departed; A new heart vase;
Tear dampened Terra cotta; GOD can take;
Broken life; as a potter; GOD will remake!

From We To Me

Growing up, I recall a close family unity,
Reaching through out all the community,
From mountain top to valley and glade,
Everyone rushed to their neighbor’s aid,
In the beginning it was we, our and us,
We were created to be righteous and just,
Being taught we should love one another,
Everyone is really your sister and brother,
Siblings of the same family we can claim,
A different Daddy but our Father is same,
Though different we are equal one and all,
We must obey the Creator’s supreme call,
Some have drifted to it’s all about myself,
Out of life what’s there for me on the shelf?
Thinking turned from we to its all for me,
Truly an error of ways it’s very plain to see,
I want the very best clothing, house and car,
The Father watches their actions from afar,
Far from the truth, only one counting is me,
Hear the call for unity, from me back to we!
