She Is Like a Flower
She is like a flower
and you must treat her as such.
She is delicate and fragile,
so have a tender touch.
She is like a flower,
beautiful to behold.
Her smile lights my life,
more brilliantly than gold.
She is like a flower,
so young and sweet and smart
She is a rare wildflower,
with a place always in my heart

Disc Golf's Spiritual Side
Sunday morning disc golf is a most spiritual thing:
the metallic jingle of chains as church bells ring
the sight of a disc being launched through the air
the easy camaraderie that most players share
the feel of breezes which caress your cheek
the odor of earth passing beneath your feet
the thrill of a birdie or an ace on a hole
the freedom of flight in each and every throw

A Mind Cleared By Drink
I was in need of a Vacation
From constant Contemplation
Resulting in no Explanation
So I began my Saturation
With fruity-stiff Libations
Which created an Infatuation
Of a preposterous Situation
Where the leaders of all Nations
(Represented in Clay-mation)
Toasted in divine Celebration
To their inadequate Education
Their ideas soured in Stagnation
From want of Experimentation
And their peoples died of Starvation
Or fattened from lack of Animation
Politicians perpetually schedule Litigations
Against further Third-World Migrations

Nighttime Envy
I spend most nights
envious
until the wee hours of morn;
watching
the subtle changes of your face
as you are mentally carried
from one dreamscape
to another.
Did you know I want to sleep like you do?
If only I could sleep like you do…
I lie here each night
jealous
through the darkened hours,
listening
to noises which accompany sleep;
your mumbled words,

Inherent Evil
Tears falling like rain
tears of happiness mingled with pain
heart and soul both weighted with sin
unspoken, not acknowledged, yet ne’er to be done again
bloodstains on heart, hands, and soul
evil of a kind most hope to never have to know
negativity worms its way inside
ever growing until it takes over my life
uncontrollable urges, until power is released
wishes wished – yet – still the urges never cease
so much power on which to draw
my heart is frozen never to thaw
darkness seeks me out – evil desires to regain me
with a drive to damn my soul for all eternity
only my will to do good stands in the way
how long could it last – I could give in any day
the evil causes unnecessary pain, unwanted suffering
how could I be so – it is no longer in me
still the evil searches – I can hear its call
I pray to the Great One, I will not fall.
