Of ruining our marvelous friendship

Certains Morts
Ceux, qui sont partis, laissent dans la mémoire,
Un effet incrédule. On n'arrive pas à croire que ces amis
D'hier n'y sont plus. Ces anciens amis, qui sont partis,
Sans dire adieu, sont enfouis dans l'espace noire.
Les morts ne sont jamais partis, ils sont portés disparus,
Dans un inexplicable néant. Ils sont quelques parts.
Ils ne vivent pas et ne respirent plus. Ils sont aux remparts,
Dans les cœurs serrés, dans les esprits erronés de la rue.
C'était hier que ces nouveaux morts rigolaient et rêvaient,
C'était ce matin que je les ai vus en vie, en chair et en os.
Je pensais qu'ils étaient, tous, les amis intimes de Méthos.
Ceux, qui ne sont guère vivants, ont trouvé abruptement la paix,
Le repos qu'ils cherchaient depuis le premier bond du cœur;
Ils sont désormais, loin de la peur, de la peine et des douleurs.

A Tribute to Ms. Lena Horne
All God’s creatures are beautiful, however,
The Almighty took a little bit extra-time
To accomplish this legendary jazz singer.
I am talking about Lena Horne. In her prime,
She denounced racism, the ugliness that existed
In our society; unfortunately, this cancer
Is still around, it has not been eradicated.
This singing bird was the epitome of beauty,
She was wonderful inside and outside.
Her charms, bravery and charisma will glide
For a long time; she left an indelible mark on this society.
Ms. Horne took her last breath this morning,
She departed with pride and style.
She was a treasure, an exquisite darling
That will forever nourish my inspiring mind.

Some would dare to say that there is no tomorrow.
As long as we are alive, there will be another day
To dream, imagine, hope and wipe away our sorrow.
Make the best of every day is the only way
To deal with this extraordinary concept.
Few would candidly accept
That tomorrow is just another day
To giggle, laugh, work, pray and play.
