Hafeni Nghidinua

Why do we want to love?

Why do we beg for love?
Why do we die without attention?
Why do we prefer to be two instead of one?
Why do we seek warmth from a body that is not ours?
Why do we want to be special in the eyes of others?
Is life a gift too precious to be spent alone?
Is being alone a thought too cold?
Do we love as we long to be loved?
Or is life simply a gift
Too great to be spent on you
and you alone.

Love hurts

Love is a word, the simplest of nouns
Important to the world, yet only a noun
Then why does it hurt, like a knife to the chest
Its only a word, so i cant understand

Its simpply a word, that we say everyday
Easy to say, and so easy to gain
So why does it pain, when she's walking away?
Its something i say, and hear every day

Its simply a word, a very simple word
Easily heard, all over the world
So why does it hurt, like a knife to the chest
When i hear it no more, coming from her lips?

The Sun Will Set

The day is good and filled with laughter
The sun is bright and makes everything look good
Friends will be around when the sun shines brighter
But everyone disappears during the gloom

Everyone loves being under the sun
It's a beautiful place were all is fun
Promises are made when the sun is bright
Never wondering when it'll turn night

The sun will set it has to set
Every day at a scheduled crest
And in the dark of the no lit sky
Promises are broken and friendships will die

So make your promises under the sun
Enjoy your friends and have some fun
Though I promise you when the sun is gone
All the promisers will be on the run
And every friend will be no were in sight

I killed an ant

We both roamed upon this land
But this tiny soldier in my hand
Was surely destined to meet his end
On the day that i chose to kill an ant

I could not help, i could not choose
To stop myself from bringing doom
To the tiny soldiers little life
I don't know why but he had to die

Were it roam the ant wouldn't triumph
David could would never defeat Goliath
Though his feeble legs kicked in the air
Mercy i did never spare

My eyes had chosen to stop and stare
At the tiny soldier right over there
Though he had no chance and he had no hope
He fought like victory was a thing so close

Have I Ever?

Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?
How your beauty outshines the brightest of stars?
How I love that twinkle that sparks in your eye
How the world can brighten when you smile

Have I ever told you how wonderful you are?
How everything about you is as perfect as is
That nothing compares to the sight of you
You are more beautiful than I can ever describe

A compliment to your body...
Most fine and curled like a vase
A compliment to your personality
So gentle and kind with grace

You are a princess and the queen of my heart
You are the best that ever came into my arms
Only God can be thanked for the pleasure of knowing you
Thank you for your friendship and just being you

Broken Glasses (2)

It's all broken glasses falling on the floor
Piece by piece breaking even more
One becoming two with each and every blow
A tree of glasses will never grow

Broken glasses on the floor
A million pieces becoming more
Each piece alone starts to shine
As though each one were becoming alive

A million pieces lie on the floor
Broken glasses broken to the core
They make me cry with their silence alone
As though they believe that all hope is gone
And the light that shines on the edge of a piece
Is like an un-witnessed tear of the pain unseen
As though when the pieces stop falling
All the glasses stop fighting
And chose to shine no more

Sweet Dreams

Sweet dreams are made of many things
The different thoughts that we constantly think
The very things that that lie in our fantasies
And create a thought that's tenaciously sweet
That we savor so much while soundly asleep
Things that can only happen in dreams

My sweet dreams are made of you
The perfect moments and the perfect gloom
The perfect place and the perfect dream
But whatever could be more perfect than you?
Is only what I can conjure in my sleep

Life is a reality and dreams are the opposite
It's the time we find peace from every worry
It's a place where every story has a happy ending
It's a place where every person has a chance to be happy
It's a place where you and I have a happy ending

A cradle song before we sleep

Good Times

Little kids play in the rain and do the darnest of things
They might get cold or catch a flue but still they'll play non-rest
They care not if the world might end or famine strikes the fields
As long as they are with a friend, worries cannot exist

'Happy! Happy! ' They will sing and then go dance in the rain
They paint a picture of you and me. I wish we were happy again
We could dance in the rain and sing with the birds and never care of this world
But now we're chained and frowning in pain but apparently this we deserve

Kids should never play in the rain it's a dangerous place to be
So the elders lock them in the house and safely hide the key
But as soon as the rain subsides and it's finally safe to play
They'll open the doors and let us play to our very hearts content
Yet every night I say a prayer that we'll be happy again
I miss my friend, I miss the rain, and I wanna go out and play

But the elders have locked us in for the safety of our souls
The rain is a dangerous place to play and we have to wait some more
The elders will keep me happy till the sun will shine again

Little Eleanor's Sleep

Sleep little Eleanor and sleep forever
Forget the troubles that lie behind you
Close your eyes and let them wonder
Sleep forever and fall into the blue

This world was filled with twists and turns
And you could not handle all its burns
I'd see you staring at the stars
And somewhere along you'd mind your scars
Was the world with too much pain?
Was every action made in vain?

Were the nights not beautiful though without the care?
Were the stars not beautiful or why'd you stare?

I know your days were filled with struggle
Every hour filled with battles
Every wound brought too much pain
Every action was in vain
Every breath was a fight on its own

Broken Glasses

Leon Heart once needed a blanket
He was feeling cold being winters hostage
He found a blanket to hold him tight
But it stood there staring at him in a smile

He chased it for long over a mile
Grew so tired after a while
And chose stop running this marathon
As soon as the blanket dropped him a thorn

We never wanted to play these games
We looked at the menu then ordered the plate
We never wanted to run this silly race
But now it's over we can walk away
But not without this anguishing shame

Billy Ray asked Miss. Johns for some honey
She however warned him it'd mess with his tummy
He didn't listen, he ate the honey
And latter on, he was crying for mommy
