Today I Watched You Sleep
Today I watched you sleep
You looked so peaceful, a beautiful picture for my mind to keep
I wondered what heavenly dream you were having
For you had on a sweet easy smile; endearing
Watching you made my heart sing
I could almost feel it dancing
I caught myself smiling
Taylor Swift's Tim McGraw playing
I thought to myself, what a creature to behold
Always thought you a god, truth be told
Perfect brows, a well carved jaw
Lips of pure honey, God, I loved what I saw
Beautiful body, arms so strong
I could never go wrong
You felt so warm beside me, like a bottle of gin
To wake you would be a mortal sin
Like you read my mind
Your eyes slowly opened so deep and kind
I couldn't help but smile again
The look you gave me was like sunshine through the rain

Lord Of Deceit Sent To His Knees
O hail Lord and ruler of lies
You who hath descended directly from the father of lies
Deceit is your cloak, flattery your disguise
A staff of confusion, your gifts a veil on her eyes
Many a-field are you familiar, punishment you mete
Her cardiologist, you set the pace of her heartbeat
Her dermatologist, warm her skin, raise goose bumps, turn up the heat
Her psychologist, you confuse and control her mind, you lead
You told her diamonds are forever and she was one
Now you spit and scorn her now that her fame is done
You support her hand as she pulls out her gun
Whisper in her ears, "Go ahead, you can do it hun"
You watch the bloody mess and you sneer
Hear the echo of the gunshot and you cheer
Walk to her stock and grab a beer
As you sit down and plot whose life you shall now tear
Andreas, cursed be that name
Pity you picked the wrong girl for your next game
For Lady Esperanza is no woman you can tame

The Lady Esperanza
Some say my feet never do touch the ground
So I asked the gods and this I found
I, a daughter of Libra am of the element air
Beautiful, soothing, light hearted tender and fair
Others say I always play the fool
For I easily fall in love with no clue
Whether it be lust or true
Then I looked up to the sky
And there right next to the southern star up high
I saw my destiny written in the stars
I saw faults, my hurts and all my scars
My heart is ruled by Venus, goddess of love
So do not question my unending waters of love
But wait, hear me
Though quick to love, I am wiser than most you see
Libra, scales, I keep the balance
And to do so it takes great wisdom and balance
My colour, blue
But wait, not just any blue
It's a rainbow of blues

Sleepless Nights
Tick tock goes the clock
Crickets chirping, hear the owl mock
Like a nocturnal creature, senses are alert
With each and every tiny sound my ears they flirt
Beddings on the floor, I can't stand the heat
Light bulb burning for I fear the shadows and my own heartbeat
My mind my nemesis
If given a choice I would rather the electric chair
See my mind creates images
Like my very own horror are these images
What time is it?
It's two in the morning
And once again my heart is in mourning
Once upon a time my heartbeat had a beautiful melody
Rhythm and rhyme, a catching melody
Now, it beats to the saddest tune
An eerie melancholy tune
See my own heart is out to kill me
For the blood it pumps through my veins is now impure you see
A poison that spreads faster each day

My Daughter, My Pride
Like a thousand needles, the pain shot through me
It was only for a few seconds but it felt like a life time you see
And as suddenly as it came, it stopped
And I ceased the moment to grab the phone, but then my heart stopped
As I realized it wasn't working
Damned phone, of all days to stop working
Shhh, calm down my Angelica
It's going to be okay, I silently whispered, the clinic is not that far
I grabbed my coat, car keys and rushed to the car
I sat there for a while as a rush of pain shot through me again
Another few seconds of pain
And my foot was on the pedal
And I drove like a racer seeking a medal
Counting down hoping the next pains would be at the stop sign
I made it just in time
And after hours of excruciating pain
I gave birth to a princess born from pain
But, with one gummy smile
She wiped it all away and my heart couldn't help but smile
16 years later, growing up so quickly

The Five Senses Renewed
Shhh, listen my love to the wind
Hearken to her melody, the symphony of the night wind
A refrain that tells our story
One of our love a beautiful history
Shhh, listen not with your ears
For it's a sound so divine only the heart hears
Look, beyond what the eyes can see
There, next to the southern star, do you see?
A story is written of two lovers
Born of thorns upon desert soil, cacti flowers
Written in the stars, of galaxies and comets
Brighter than the morning star, born of stardust and planets
Close your eyes, take a whiff
Go on, just a tiny sniff
Inhale that hint of vanilla, a delightful fragrance
A trace of potpourri, an air of jasmine, my what a heavenly fragrance
No cologne can compare
All the flowers of Eden combined in one, a scent so rare

The Pain of Missing You
See my heart is ablaze, it's on fire
No, not the kind that stems from your touch; desire
More of the type found in hell's darkest pits of torment
The pain of missing you has turned my heart into one of those pits of torment
In attempt to ease my heart, I walked down memory lane
Hoping images of you would my heart sustain
Alas, into a pool of misery I plunged
And with every memory, deeper I plunged
The memories only made me miss you more
Increasing the pain at my heart's core
Help me, I'm drowning
In a murky pool of misery, I'm drowning
They say out of sight out of mind
Funny how for me it's out of sight running out of my mind
Every night I dream of you and me together
Funny when I awake it's always the same, a cold bed and gloomy weather
It's like a year of winter
Everything seems grey, cold and dead, a forever winter
And today was no different
Not that I thought it would be different

I Cheated Death.
Suddenly all went cold
And of my mother's hand I took hold
I held on like a drowning man would a lifeline
For I knew this might be the end of my timeline
And there in the corner he stood
Bright silvery robes, a golden cord around his waist, there he stood
Shoulder length hair as golden as the sun's rays
Eyes bluer than the Caspian, bronze skin that hath no flaws
His feet shod in sandals
His presence brightened the candles
I felt a hope build inside
A fire rekindled inside
But as quickly as it came
The hope left and with it the fear came
As I looked in horror to the other corner
There she stood, crowned by darkness in the left corner
Her eyes the colour of blood
In a black robe of death she was clad
As I focused on her, I felt the life leave me
Just as the anaconda squeezes the life out of its prey, the life left me
