Efe Benjamin

Do Not Forget My Name

Do not forget my name
It is written in every page
We all have a debt to pay
When you face him at
The other gate,
How would you say
You spent your days?
And it would be a shame
If you are taken the
other way.
Limbo, shall hold no
man hostage
Christ had done all for
our own sake.
He has taken the pains
To show us the way
It is now left for us
to chose our fate.
But surely it would
be a shame

Ghana

You're stealing my brothers
They're leaving for your shores
They say they search for
a greener pasture,
But motherland they abandon
Is being overrun with weed.
Who could make them see,
That it is no better over the seas
If we stay and build our own home
We can have all we could hope,
Ghana is no better land,
They have voted in good leaders
And together they have built
their home,
Citizens live happy and could cope,
Why don't we stay and build
ours too?
Stand in queue and vote in good
leaders too,
For Ghana is never a better land

To You My Heart Belong

Jami, to you my heart belong
I have waited for you so long
And now that I have you in my life
What more could I ask of a wife?
You gave me your life, your heart
What more do I need in my house?
If not for the sweet kids;
They too love me like my sweet Jami
O how can I be so happy!
You don't even know what
You mean to me.
Jami Oh Jami you keep my life
jamming!
The sweet kids too, they are
coming
Coming all the way to Africa;
To be with their new daddy.
This is Nigeria in my Africa
To where we all belong.
We will live and visit your America.

Helen

As I walked towards helens house
I was thinking of her, her long pretty black hair
Her beatiful shiny eyes, and above
All, her humane personality which
Has endeered me to her the most
Her life is an epitome of all I wanted
I think of her the most
And she is my only aspiration
I am now here, right here with Helen
I want to ask her what she did to me
I am loosing my mind, I am thinking of her and I can think of nothing else
What has she done to me?
I used to be very ambitious.
Now all my aspirations are being
Replaced by helen
All I want now is Helen and Helen
There is nothing on my mind but Helen
I want her by my side for the rest of my life.

Don't Forgive Him

Men of clan kill those they love for money,
Blood of brothers can't be cleanse
from their memory
Hades, get thee behind me!
Who knows when Christ is coming?
.
Faustus sold his soul for love of magic
And had them all to his means,
From scholarly, he went to trickery,
Who knows what else could it be?
.
Mephastophilis, dont you forgive him,
Your time at his service is finished
You kill him, you burn him
you slaughter him,
His soul you take with you to Hades
Till he realises there is no escape
from nemesis.
.
Oh ye who think Nigerians are fraudsters,

Waiting For Tomorrow

Today is gone with my hopes
Tomorrow I wait for what comes.
If yesterday is history
And tomorrow mystery
I have today only as mine.
But I still wait for tomorrow,
For yesterday is gone with my hopes.
O' home, sweet home of mine!
I have missed for twenty years
If they can feel my tears;
My pains and my bleeding heart.
Time has failed me
Time won't leave me.
And every day I grow older;
Everyday I grow weaker;
America, are you there?
Africa, can you hear me?
My country has failed me
And I am growing old, old away from home
My Africa, my sweet home of mine

Lagos Island [Two Girls]

One day on Lagos Island
I drove passed
two girls on the
coastland.
As they freeze
From the heat of
The cold winter.
They beckoned
On me as I drove
past in speed on
the bridge
of their local mainland.
I freeze;
Parked and
Comes out to see
What it could be;
Then two girls
I see;
Staring intensely
At me,

A Girl In Hell

A girl was bathing in hell
Said she wanted me dead
So I could be with her in hell
The words she had said
Kept reverberating in my head
Give in to lust, she had said
Let not your world be lost
For Heaven knows we'll soon be dust
And your world will all be gone.
What could it all mean?
This girl I see in my dreams
And yet I do not know
I have wondered to a world unknown
This imagination in my mind have I create
I drowse and I slumber yet I do not sleep
Is this another fantasy of my dream?
She had come and gone with my love
Those hurtful moment I felt I could cry
I could find no tears, I only heaved a sigh
I want to be righteous, I want to fly with Christ

Silent Girl

Silent girl of the river goddess
Why do you speak not my love
Why do give not my love a try,
For in you I rediscovered my name
My name that was burning
Like wild fire in the harmattan.
You are all I ever needed
To attain everlasting happiness.
And your smile;
Shines like the rising sun,
Gave my life light.
My life with you
Has been like a dream
And I don't anymore
Want to return to reality.
When our death comes,
I'll go with you, to somwhere;
Anywhere, and you fate
Shall also be mine.
My aspirations are long lost

She's Gone

Finally she's gone,
Like an unbilical cord
When a child is born.
Scornfully she looked
at me;
Her eyes running down
from head to my feet,
Words she had wanted
to say
Seemed to die in her
own rage.
Finally I found words
and said:
Is your love really dead?
Yes, she turned and said:
And you should get out
of my head!
Ok, I've heard, very well,
I said;
And left without a fret,
