God Bless The Queen [two songs]
I
God bless the Queen,
In her golden crown of reed.
Let not thy sins be seen,
Take it up to Christ and be freed.
II
So glad I have been to England,
A dream of every lad on this land.
Africa, the road to us seems so far,
But I close my eyes and see our promised land.

A Song Of Africa
Africa, my Africa, please don't sell out this land.
Brothers, sweet sisters, please come back to motherland.
Africa, mother Africa is calling;
Thy fatherland is being stolen.
Forget the pleasures that lie on the shores of America
And hearken to the voice of a dying mother.

The Runaway
Call me the runaway,
You are right.
From home, I ran away
To fight for my life.
It is my right
To have good things of life.
But I'll have to work for it,
I'll have to fight for it,
I'll have to struggle for it.
For I was a heir to nothing.
I had no property to inherit.

David the Lunatic
David the lunatic
had a son whom
they named Steven.
No home, they slept
under a canopy.
The wife Caroline
left one morning
leaving Steven
on the balcony.
Fate had a way, Steven
never fell sick.
David's dad had a
thing with polygamy.
Steven grew up
A man and joined
the seminary.

This is Your Life
This is your life
Your life in my life,
So sweet
I do not think of you,
I dream of you
In my dreams, so sweet
I just want to close
My eyes and be with you.
And my love for you
So true, I cant fall
In love anymore.
This is your life
Your life in my life
An uncommon bond
Of divine.

Afraid of dying
Im tired of living
but im afraid of dying
'Cause I dont know my fate
I dont know what awaits
Me up there in the sky.
I pray for a day
someone who has been there
Before will return to tell
Me what awaits me up there
But in all I know living
The right life will make all the
difference.

Why I love Poetry
Listen, fellow poets
And you will see
You would agree
Why I love poetry
It gave me entry
Into my world of uncertainty
And gave me voice
To say what I see
And this is what I See;
I see many reaching for me
I see you want to change me
Many want to change the world
But do we need the rod?

Home from Exile
Welcome home from exile
A note I wrote in exile
I cant read anymore
I dont even want to think
Of it anymore
Those were my trying days
I try to make up for my lost days
I strived to get to the top
Yet I kept slipping down
People kept trying to bring me down
But I kept fighting to the top.

Chidinma Should Be Blamed
I am happy;
Chidinma should be blamed for it
I do not know what true love means
But I look in your eyes and I see everything
What have you done to me?
Killing my dreams
And giving me new ones,
Within you also I could
See a burning desire to love.
And in turn be loved
By this girl I saw.

A child is never ugly
When they said I'm ugly
I prayed it never was true.
But when in front of a mirror
I saw my face was something uninteresting.
I cried and cursed and cried.
I wished I looked better.
But only then I heard a voice say:
Trouble yourself not my child,
For a child is never ugly.
Only the mind is.
