Sad Lover
If honesty is returned with lies
Then I shall be a liar
If a giving heart is deemed unwise
Then I shall be the wiser
If “being there” breeds lonely cries
Then I will be no shoulder
If a second chance is not a prize
Then I shall be a quitter
For those with evil in their eyes
Cannot know love so true
Though they may try to reach the skies
They are impure, and never do
If I should be a bit precise
These words I’d say to you:
Were I to meet a sad demise
I’d be as such, like you.

My sanity is on the line,
Yet I embrace this dead-cold cage
