Steel Cowboy
I was a steel cowboy most of my life
On top of eighteen wheels
Oh what a sight
Runnning the highways
Looking at life
From behind a big steering wheel
I've seen everything there is to see
From naked women to jacking off queens
Nothing gets missed atop my great steed
The beauty of Gods hand across this great land
Everyday was an adventure that couldn't be planned

Amazing Grace
Oh how sweet the sun upon my face
I thank the Lord for His amazing grace
For what I have been given upon this earth
And for what I know awaits me when I return to dirt
I know his love is everlasting
So I'm thanking all those who I met along the way
Helping me make it through my day
For that is why God put us on this earth:
To be like Him while He's away

The Day Will Come
I know my days are running short
I soon must say goodbye
To this place they call the earth
For I know we all must die
If we never get the chance to say goodbye
Please don't shead a tear
For God has given me many things
All the good people He's placed in my life
The ones I love so dear
For they have helped me along the way
But most of all I thank the Lord
For His faith in me
When mine in Him had faded away

When I become lost

All the time I thought it was you

There are angles that walk amoung us
Almost everyday
Looking like ordinary people in every way
what makes them different from some of us
Is the way the care about you
Making your life better in many simple ways
Helping you get through the day
By the burdens they take away
Never asking for anything in return

Though they might not come from heaven

There is only one thing I ask
When it's time for me to go
That I get the chance to let go
To say good bye
Look once again into those eyes
The ones that made me laugh and cry
Brought me to my knees
Rasied me when I was down

Packing Up Our Dreams
Packing up our dreams today
Told that we must move away
The bank just took our house
Funny don't know how it all went so wrong
When we got the loan
Back in better days
Now all the jobs are gone
Thought we could hold on
But the bank won't help in any way
They got their money from Uncle Sam
Investing it in other lands
To Hell with Us is what they say
I pray someday God takes from them

Oh, just to go back for just one day
When I had an imagination and knew how to play
Where life troubles never got in the way
Everything was taken care of by mom and pop
They always knew what was needed and what was not
I know I wasn't rich
Never realized I was poor
For the world was mine when I went out the front door
All I had to do is close my eyes,
Then my imagination took over, and the world became my prize

Funny as it may seem
I feel forever seventeen
Never feeling my age
Maybe it's just a stage
I've seem never to have outgrown
Now fifty has come and gone
I wonder what went wrong
Why I don't think like old people do
I make fun of people they say
Just like back in the day
For I can find something funny in what people do
Or maybe it's just a way
I try to remove people's pain
For without laughter we grow old
